You could do something analogous on a ATM machine. Banks do not seem to losing billions of dollars to hackers, quite the opposite, electronic funds seem to more secure than paper.

Except that the typical ATM machine is built into a reinforced wall, not sitting on a tabletop with phillips screw heads all over the place.

Try walking behind a machine with a screwdriver in your hand at my polling place and the charming, kindly little blue-haired ladies that run the show would beat you to death with their canes in a heartbeat. The min skill of an effective hacker is "social engineering" -- talking your way in. Convince the blue-haired ladies that you're a repairman, or better still bluff your way into the storage area a day or two before election day.

Nobody would hack a Diebold (DIEBOLD! DIEBOLD!) machine that way.
We all know that they are centrally controlled by Chimpy McBushenfuhrer.

Voting machines are kept under pretty tight surveillance by interested parties.
I suspect RATS hate electronic voting machines because they’re harder to “hack” than paper ballots.

Maybe someday people (in ALL parties) will realize that technology and progress isn’t always that wonderful... I don’t care how long it would take, nor how many tax dollars we’d have to shell out to get paper ballots that are hand-counted — seems like it would save all of us a lot of time, money, and agony in the long run, really...

Actually the Obama Dems are blaming Diebold hacking for Hillary’s win in NH already... So, it’s not just Republicans they don’t trust! ;)

Will make stealing election even easier

and of course, there is no way known to man to have tamper seals that would show something like this happening. And until such time that fire can melt metal, there never will be.;)
As with all networked computer systems, the security is comprised of 3 things: initial setup (including o/s and software install), physical security of the machines and isolation of the network. Excepting a breech of one of the above, the Diebold system is fine. In my 20+ years working with computer systems, I've found most security breeches involve stupidity or laziness on some level or another.
Bottom line: computerized voting machines make it easier to vote and much, MUCH harder for the average person to 'fix' an election.

Would the Dims be able to manage sophisticated programming? The Chinese can. The RATs are outsourcing to the ChiComms.

...somebody should have polled the car tags to see where they were from at every 'Rat polling location. If I were Osama Obama I'd be screaming bloody murder right about now..... Assuming, of course, that Barry's not in on the whole plan...

I don’t think it’s supposed to accomplish anything, might get some dumb people arrested. They say to take off the bottom of the machine, which means at least turning the machine on its side, and of course it’s going to be more than one screw holding the bottom on, so the whole operation will take a while and be rather noisy, I’m betting somebody will get suspicious.
