ROME - Italy expelled on Wednesday a Muslim cleric accused of spreading anti-Western propaganda from his mosque in the northern city of Turin, flying him back to his native Morocco despite his denials of wrongdoing.
Mohammed Kohaila, who has been living with his family in Italy for the past 15 years, spent much of 2007 defending himself after a television programme accused him of extremism. Using a hidden camera, it showed excerpts of prayers he read including one which said that Allah would kill those people who worship multiple gods. It also showed pamphlets inside the mosque that advocated al Qaeda and jihad....
Kohaila, who sought to sue the TV programme for defamation, said last year his prayers were taken out of context and that he had nothing to do with the offensive pamphlets.
"I can't control everything that's distributed inside the mosque. Every so often, I've found suspicious pamphlets and I had them removed immediately," he told one Italian newspaper.
Italy's interior ministry said Kohaila's expulsion came after an exhaustive investigation that revealed "elements supporting Kohaila's dangerousness". Among those elements cited by the ministry were Kohaila's "acclaimed activities of proselytising and promoting violently anti-Western conduct", the ministry said. It also examined his "relations held with extremists close to militant jihad".

Anytime it happens, they should be thrown out. Period. They use the freedom western nations allow to spit back in their faces.

Yes, and Italy is leading it. In the north, the have halted the construction of mosques, muted those maddening yodels to worship five times a day and started kicking out the trouble-makers.
Accoring to a Dutch newssource, the imam has asked for political asylum in the Netherlands and he will get it...
