Smaller, brighter, prettier and less expensive! Isn't technology wonderful! This 18 LED light bulb makes an excellent high definition reading light. Perfect to help you not feel guilty about leaving an accent light on all night. Run it for twelve hours a day for a whole year at a cost of about 80 cents. This LED light bulb should last about 10 years, and works well with a dimmer switch. Your choice of 120 or 12 volts bulbs available.
YOUR PRICE: US $34.95$

If the bulb lasts the claimed 60,000 hours vs 1,000 of the common bulb...

$40.20(60 bulbs at 67¢ each) vs $34.95

Cost of Electricity of 60,000 hours at 10¢ per kWh:

Common bulb 3600 kWh=$360.00 vs 120 kWh=$12.00 LED bulb

Got this info here

Uhhh, I like LED lights, but until they get more powerful, they can’t be compared.

Obviously you don’t have these in your house.

LED bulb you linked to 30-40 LUMENS
Average 60W bulb = 840 LUMENS

So at current power/efficiency, you need ~ 20 of the bulbs to match the “brightness” of a 60W incandescent.

BTW, better LEDs are on the way - they are SOOO bright they are proposed for use as car headlights!

My suggestion, wait until the new generation arrives before spending $$$$

Unfortunately, that bulb and other LED “household bulbs” are presently getting horrible reviews.

60 bulbs X 10 minutes each change = 10 hours

10 hours of your PERSONAL time is worth what?

"This LED light bulb should last about 10 years"

If it doesn't break for whatever reason.
