Get ready RangerM. When you even question any of the FredHeads’ candidate, they will come out with guns blazing and hate spewing They did the same thing with Rudy supporters and they’re still attacking Romney supporters here. Sad, because it says more about them than it does you.

Maybe Thompson could extend the offer again?

And Huck would be foolish to take that debate, given he is now polling high and Fred low. Also Fred would shred him even worse than he was shredded last night. Huck is best advised to stay away from Fred.

Maybe Thompson would like to retract his refusal to debate Huckabee one-on-one?

Is anyone else doing one-on-one debates at this point?

Therefore part of me say good luck Fred but part of me still thinks of the Reagan 11th commandment never attack a fellow Republican though of course to get the nomination I am sure even he forgot it and if he did not his supporters definitely did.

I believe Reagan meant fellow conservative, you know back when all Republicans were true conservatives, not RINOS. I’m not so sure RR would sit by quietly while a liberal tried to win the Republican nomination.

“...or Ron Paul. Saw lots of signs for him in heavy Republican country yesterday.”

If that lunatic wins, I’m seriously thinking of leaving the country. He scares me more than Hillary and Obama combined.

I’ll accept your interpretation of “brought him down to the level of the common politician” as bashing, althought it was intended as an expression of disappointment. A better wording would have been “brought my image of him down to the level of the common politician”

The second, is an expression of regret, nothing more.

Maybe, but wouldn’t that say something negative about Huckabee?

When no one else is doing it, it can be just as much an opportunity as a detriment.

Maybe. Given the arse whompin Fred gave Huck in the last debate, to personally challenge Huck to another one would make Fred look like he is piling on. Its a moot point though, neither Huck or Fred is going to challenge the other to a debate at this late stage.

The “big” endorsment is not supposed to be announced until between 10 and 2 today. I hope it meets the hype.

I'll buy that. I'm of the mind this was Fred's plan all along. Taking the commie populist to task was a necessary evil that had to be done. Next up is McCain (I hope).

We see it as opposites.

My viewpoint is that in a field of 5, when the polls (assuming they can be trusted) say “this guy is ahead over here, and that guy is ahead over there”, anything that will allow 1 or 2 to break away (ahead) of the crowd, is a good thing.

Why didn’t Thompson do it last year when Huckabee gave him the chance?
http://www.eyeon08.com/2007/09/11/thompson-turns-down-1-on-1-debate/

I don't know. In retrospect, I wish that they had done this. At the time it seemed Thompson would be competing with Mitt and Rudy.
