Had Brownback not dropped out, he would be my second choice. But now it is Huckabee.

Sam Brownback is kicking himself for getting out when he did. The Huckabee surge might have been the Brownback surge. Brownback is probably more conservative than Huckabee and just as solid on social issues.

Good point.

I still feel that the Huckabee surge was due primarily to the 'ANYONE BUT GIULIANI voters--i.e. social conservatives/evangelicals and Christians GRASPING FOR ANYONE,,,and I mean ANYONE,,,,with some semblance of socially conservative credentials.

Huck owes Rudy big time for that one.

“The Democrats aren’t crossing over when they have a horserace of their own to deal with.”

I don’t think there is a democrat horse race in Michigan. Obama and Edwards aren’t even on the ballot. I believe they already regret removing their names when the democrat party punished Michigan for moving up its primary.

Although I see that Obama & Edwards have now joined to push for Michigan democrats to vote “uncommitted” to avoid giving Hillary the unchallenged victory.

If you want to see something unbelievable. Take a look at Rudy's drop in New York--IN NEW YORK!!!!

According to RCP, McCain in now only three points behind Rudy in New York!! Amazing.

Yes I didn’t realize Obama and Edwards removed their names. What a dumb move. I can’t help but think their supporters will get in there and vote anyway. If they are not allowed to write in a name then I can see them voting “uncommitted.” It might be that they ignore their own problems and seek to influence the Republicans. But the Republican field is so crazy and unpredictable that I can’t see the Dems even agreeing on who to pick in a crossover assault. The one consistent thing about the Republican field is that no one can come together on a candidate, not even the opposition.
