It speaks for itself that the Democratic teacher unions are all for liberal Huckabee.

The ONLY thing Huckaee is right on is abortion -— and Thompson has the same position there.

In the words of the Huckster himself: If you are catching flak, you must be over the target.

Fred is taking on Huckabee so strongly because he is desperate. Ron Paul got 8 times the votes of Thompson in New Hampshire.

My suggestion:

Governor Huckabee is of the belief that the government ought to be doing an awful lot of things. I know he doesn't think I did enough to grow the government and get it more involved in our lives. But I don't think it's the government's job to be our nanny. I want to shrink government and leave freedom in the hands of the people. Maybe to Mike that looks like not doing anything. To me it looks like conservatism.

Thompson blew it going after Huckabee yesterday. I guess he thought he could pile on and there would be no payback. It came across as desperate, and the polls show it didn’t help him at all. The interesting thing is, if Thompson was going to go after Huckabee, he should have gone after McCain as well. But he knew he couldn’t go after McCain because his support for McCain-Feingold could blow up in his face.
