What you seem to be advocating is that she (and I) toss aside our morally and politically conservative convictions in favor of political expediency, and at the same time toss aside an honorable man who we have publicly committed ourselves to.

Sorry, friend. I haven’t come to this decision lightly, and I don’t intend to bail on Duncan Hunter any time soon.

Seems to me that all this “settling” for a perception is how we got into this mess in the first place.

As long as Duncan Hunter is running for President, I will support him!

People don’t seem to like Mitt or even Fred as much as they like Huckabee or McCain. This has nothing to do with political positions . . it is just personality.

The unpleasant truth - but the truth nonetheless - is that presidential contests are popularity contests as much as contests based on substance.

The good-looking, good-natured guy with nothing more than generalities often beats the guy who may not be as telegenic, but who has ideas.

The "youth factor" cannot be ignored, either.

I wish it weren't so. But it is.

He’s been Az. Senator for how long without doing anything about the problem?

My thoughts exactly. When I heard that I thought somebody would point that out but nobody did. I think all of them are horrible in one way or the other. The governors are the closest to be able to run the country. Being one of 100 is pretty easy job. But at least one of the governors are horrible (huckster) and the other for most people is a nose holder. What are we to do? We have never picked a senator since JFK so I would imagine that we should not start now. The Mayor is horrible except for 9/11. It is plain pitiful group.

Based on everything I’m seeing in polls AND actual votes, it will take 4 years of insanity like Hillary or Obama to give conservatism a chance. Too many people have forgotten what high taxes and unvarnished social liberalism does to a country. Even Bill Clinton couldn’t obey his liberal instincts for long - he only had 2 years before Congress went to the Republicans and they fought him with great success.

It doesn’t help that Republicans in Congress have become liberal, and I would be hard pressed to point to any domestic policies the Bush administration is taking that Bill Clinton wouldn’t have found acceptable.

Rush is wrong. A few liberal professors aren’t enough to remind voters what liberalism does. Americans have EARNED President Hillary Clinton.

Any suggestions on a good candidate for 2012?

Let's wait and see if America still exists then.

In media circles El Rushbo remains one of the only “consistent” conservatives out there. Even Hannity and his support of Rudy shocked me. Who else has not waivered?

No, political reality. Duncan Hunter doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell. Waste your vote. Mitt and Huck are smiling.

I’m voting for the best man to be President.

That’s Duncan Hunter.

Political reality and moderate consensus are the same thing, and they lead to the same place. Left.

I agree. That was a ridiculous moment. None of the other debaters called him on it.
McCain..”I know how bad illegal immigration is, I’ve been sitting on my arse in Arizona doing nothing about it for 20 years..” Elect me, I know how to do nothing about it.
His gang of 14 also eviscerated our gains in Congress.

Waste your vote.

The funny thing is, back before Fred even announced, most of the Fred supporters were telling me, "Go away. We don't need you any way."

So I'm gone.

BTTT.

Yes, I will support him also.

I think he is clearly the best candidate on the issues in this race --- and his positions weren't formed from last night's overnight polling results. He has been right on the issues throughout his distinguished career in politics.

I already have, and will continue to contribute my time and money to the Duncan Hunter campaign.

I don’t intend to “cut and run” as some would suggest I do.
