Just as his surge in the polls began, Huckabee addressed the student body of the late Rev. Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University in November. There, he assured his enraptured audience that his sudden rise had nothing to do with his “easy-going” style. “There’s only one explanation for [my surge] and it’s not a human one,” Huckabee insisted, inspiring gales of applause from the overflow crowd. “It’s the same power that helped a little boy with two fish and five loaves feed a crowd of five thousand people.”

There is a reason this man is referred to as the Huckster. The above is a good example. People, like Bill Clinton, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Mike Huckabee, all believe, BELIEVE, they are different than you and me. Somehow they are special. And that generally results in them doing things beyond the ethical boundaries (or legal boundaries) and believing that the rules and laws which bind other folks just don’t apply to them.
Here, you leap from innuendo to baseless accusation. That is called character assassination. Shame on you.
That is so RIGHT, as is the rest of your comment, but that line just jumped out at me.
The major problem with these people is they will NEVER admit a mistake. And I am not just speaking of Huckabee supporters, I'm speaking of all "true believers" of whatever their pet peeve of the day happens to be.
You're basing your above commentary on the following statement?
Theres only one explanation for [my surge] and its not a human one, Huckabee insisted, inspiring gales of applause from the overflow crowd. Its the same power that helped a little boy with two fish and five loaves feed a crowd of five thousand people.
That's pathetic. If you want to attack Huckabee on his past/current policies/actions, that's one thing, but to proclaim that Huckabee believes what you claim, on such kind of statement, your thought process is beyond absurd, and, imho, beyond the pale, as well. Christians hold to the promises of God which state that He shall direct their way, if we but listen to Him. That doesn't make the "believers" any more special than anyone else, as God sent His Son to die for everyone. It's just that believers have taken Him up on His promises.
Now, if you want to question as to whether or not Huckabee is "accurately" listening to the Lord's voice, that is your right, but I condemn your presumption that Huckabee, as a Christian who is commanded by God, as are all Christians, to follow man's laws (as long as they are not immoral), somehow thinks himself into "believing that the rules and laws which bind other folks just dont apply to them" is how he thinks, based on your quote.
You are right..Huck believes that his system of beliefs is based on a Higher Law and that Law is above all other laws of this country..Many of us do believe in a Higher Law but we see it as being a guide for the laws of many nations, not as the final Law that must be imposed on everybody in this country as the Huckster would like to do...In his thinking he is close to the Muslims who want to impose their brutal Sharia law on their followers..In a word, he is a religious fanatic..a True Believer..that is what drives him...Never trust a fanatic...
The Huckster is totally unacceptable on other grounds..He is a liar, is ignorant,a tax and spend liberal, a bleeding heart wimp, a person who listens to another preacher’s advice and then accepts that other preacher’s advice on blind faith-read the whole Nation article and see for yourselves..It has been documented that the parole board denied parole to Wayne Dumond by a vote of 4 to 1 but after Huckster leaned on the Board, they reversed and approved the parole...That isn’t just ignorance, that was evil what Huckabee did....I would never vote for him and hope that the people in this country wake up before they are duped by this charlatan...
