MC LEAN, Va., Jan. 11 /Standard Newswire/ -- Today the Rhode Island Right to Life Federal PAC endorsed Senator Fred Thompson for President.

"The RI Right to Life Federal PAC will do all it can to assist in the nomination of Fred Thompson for President," said Rita Parquette, Executive Director of Rhode Island Right to Life.  "Fred Thompson will do everything he can to protect the lives of the unborn, the elderly, the disabled and the sick if he becomes the next president of the United States."

Rhode Island Right to Life's mission is to advocate for a state, nation and world in which the innocent lives of the unborn, the disabled, the elderly, and the ill are cherished by the citizenry and protected by civil law.

"I'm blessed and honored to have the endorsement of the Rhode Island State Right to Life Committee for President of the United States," said Senator Thompson.  "These folks in Rhode Island have voted to endorse my candidacy because they know I have stood with them yesterday, I stand with them today, and will stand with them tomorrow.  They know I have the ability to win this election. They know I believe in the sanctity of life and as President I will do all that I can to do to protect life."

Fred Thompson is pro-life. He believes in the sanctity of human life and that every life is worthy of respect. He had a 100% pro-life voting record in the Senate and believes Roe v. Wade was a bad decision that ought to be overturned. He consistently opposed federal funding to promote or pay for abortion and supported the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act, the Child Custody Protection Act, and President Reagan's Mexico City policy. While Fred Thompson supports adult stem cell research, he opposes embryonic stem cell research. He also opposes human cloning.

I’m so proud of the Right to Life movement not buying the snakeoil certain other “conservatives” are trying to sell.

I am too. It is nice to know they take it seriously. Anyone can make promises and sign pledges and then do nothing. Romney says he had no say in having to fund abortions. Sounds like he should’ve come up with a better health care plan. No one who is pro-life would push for such a plan knowing that it would create state funded abortions. The right answer to the question should be that he didn’t know that would be a consequence. Romney doesn’t say he didn’t know, he blames the courts for forcing him. The courts did not force him to support the health care plan.

I don't hate Romney like some do, but I have to say I am disappointed in the Republicans who approve of his state oversight over health care. I just don't get how this is a "conservative" plan.

Fred is prolife and deserves our support. That's really all there is to it.

Absolutely!

Conservatives need to keep the momentum moving - I donated last Sunday and again last night.

We need to donate, volunteer, phone, vote or whatever we can ...or risk going out in a whimper.
