Is the Glock 23 double action only?

One of the first things they teach kids in hunter safety classes is that anything mechanical can fail. That includes the safety.
But none of the multitudes of Glock ADs are due to a mechanical failure. They’re all due to the trigger simply being pulled.
In my dictionary, a safety is something that prevents discharge, even when the trigger is pulled (and yes, I know there are other safeties that prevent discharge when the gun is dropped, hammer dropped, or other events.)
