Does the History channel not fact-check anything, or if blatantly false information is presented do they correct it or follow up with a caveat at the end of the show? Or is the History Channel about more politically correct versions of the truth?

How does it happen that in a history program which states it’s factual something so inaccurate gets presented as fact and gets blasted out on the air unquestioned and uncorrected?

Is this worthwile any effort or should we allow such misinformation to rest as fact, even though factually incorrect?

All of the above.

This sounds ridiculous. Southeast Asia fell pretty hard and pretty fast to Communism at this time, and we lost a lot of potential allies in this region. I'm just not sure what we could do to make anyone listen. After all, the History Channel hasn't ever been wrong about anything....

The Russians are not in Cam Ranh now. Viet Nam is still hawking the place to the Americans. The Russians vould not afford the place.

FYI Russians in Viet Nam, while they had the bases there, were treated by the Vietnamese people as uninvited beggars from some third-world hell-hole. And that was during the starvation years, too.

As we all know, it DID occur. Thus, it’s just propaganda. They don’t need to fact check. They know what the facts are. They just choose to spread lies.

There must always be accountability. The History channel simply isn’t credible (hasn’t been for quite a while), and won’t be unless they fire all agenda-driven historical revisionists and then rebuild their credibility over a period of years.

And the dominoes did definitely fall, and not all in the expected lines. The last line went through Afghanistan and the last domino to fall was the USSR, unless they are falling still and it all ends with Sharia in North America.

They still can’t bring themselves to admit that NVN was 6 days from surrender when the left finally wore down US resolve and we “quit trying”

It’s the history channel. Watered down facts to sell ad space.

Does this guy have a clue about what happened in Cambodia?

The domino theory did in fact work. The fact that the Russians and Chinese overlooked was that each of the countries that fell to Marxist movements had their own ideas of the future so the concept of "one world socialism" never really materialized. Vietnam and China battled, Pol Pot was stopped in his excess by the Vietnamese, Laos retreated from the 20th century, other country's Marxist movements died on the vine (a process greatly aided by USA). However, the spread of Marxism via the domino effect was a fact of international life in the years following our betrayal of Vietnam.

No domino effect, eh? I guess the History Channel just conveniently blows off how the USSR got so huge to begin with. And the 1956 invasion of Hungary and 1968 invasion of Czechoslavakia were just figments of my imaginations.

Don’t worry, one day there will be no more liberal babyboomers and history will be recorded correctly.... it just takes time.

Everyone knows liberal babyboomers are blocking the true history of the past 40-50 years... but they are going to retire... and there is a lot of money to be made from the demand of the TRUTH...

I’d spend a lot to have a true account of the past 40-50 years that wasn’t fragmented with liberal ideology.

And that Economic Demand will ultimately prevail.

If you are a VN Veteran or know one, you will find this site useful. Plan on spending some time. Lots of video.

"The Vietnam War was mis-reported by the Media, mis-recorded by the Historians, mis-taught in our schools and mis-applied in addressing policy decisions.

I watch the History Channel often. Many of the programs are clearly left leaning. Hit the MUTE button & enjoy the video.

The HC knows they are lying, but many viewers don’t, so it is propaganda for the ignorant.

It's Revisionist History! The Soviets learned a great deal from Goebells. What is truth? What the leaders want the followers to believe.

Revision becomes easier in the Internet Age because people study History less and YouTube more!

This is why Queen Hildebeast can speak of her experience without being asked to defend the Murderous attack on the Branch Davidians in Waco! We are coming up on the 15th anniversary and no one has yet to explain how the death of all those children made our country better!!! ..and she wants to establish Universal Child Care!!

The quality of the History Channel has gone off a cliff. What once could be counted on for some “educational” programming has turned into nothing but the National Enquirer.

They used to have some very good programs (some still remain: Modern Marvels, Dogfights since canceled) but all their specials have a large political tilt (see: the Lincoln documentary they did.

Nothing surprises me anymore with the channel, they should just change their name to the Hysteria Channel. Between specials on Bigfoot, UFOs, Ice Road Truckers, movies, Martial Arts reality shows, more UFOs, and more Bigfoot. Finding a true History program on the History Channel is now rare. There was one point it was jokingly referred to as The Hitler Channel, finding any WWII programs today takes an act of Congress. It seems that the higher ups in the network are convinced the major events in human history were predicted by soothsayers and fought to protect giant UFO cover ups so the true identity of Bigfoot would not be released.

Sad to say but PBS (flame suit on) has much better history programs than the History Channel these days.

History is so messed up now. Someone called Talk Radio last week and said that America was founded by criminals. She said that England sent the criminals to USA on the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria, to form a new nation. Kinda jumbled up with Australia history. The talk show host tried to set her straight. She was orininally from Denmark. But how many EU citizens believe all that crap that they are hearing SOME PLACE!?!?!?!?!
