Then all the ivy league schools and their ilk can have departments of peace studies with someplace to actually send them to “work” where they get huge salaries paid for by the great unwashed. This, in turn, will spawn programs in gay peace studies, feminist peace studies, transgender peace studies, various ethnic peace studies, vegan peace studies, disabled peace studies, faith-based peace studies, athiest peace studies, special needs peace studies, intellectually challenged peace studies and other sorts of peace studies which are still just a gleam in the eye of some liberal academic someplace. All of these kinds of peace studies will have tenured professors, and there will be a national peace study accreditation association which will employ hundreds of otherwise unemployable peace study majors. Of course there will have to be scholarly journals, too, and each major religious denomination will feel it now necessary to set up a division of peace studies at its national governing level. Teachers, civil servants of all sorts, social workers, etc. will all be required to take continuing education in peace studies, and the money for all of this will be provided through government grants— which will require even more peace study majors as grant writers and reviewers.
I wonder if there will be an Islamic peace studies, though. Probably not, because mohammedans are so special, being members of the religion of peace and all.

Yeah, that's why there's no peace in the world. We just aren't committed enough to it, and haven't had smart enough people talking about it yet!

*boggle*

I'm amazed that these people can dress themselves, let alone get a job.

Benjamin Rush proposed a Department of Peace back in 1792. If George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams thought it wasn’t a good idea then, I see no reason for it now.
