The WaTims misses an obvious point. The fact that the President could first visit Israel and then be welcome in a series of Arab nations. This is a positive sign, IMO.

I did not find Bush’s begging of the Saudis to pump more oil surreal at all. I thought it was embarrassing to the extreme.....for him personally, but mostly for the nation as a whole.....
