I’m praying Rush endorses FRed tomorrow! (Friday!) :-)

Other than having dismissed Hunter, Rush does not seem to be distinguishing between “front-runners”, he talks about the 5 top guys including Thompson, and has made it clear that he finds 3 on one side of a divide, and two on the other.

I think neither of them want to offend the military voters. Many of them in SC. They better both do some straight talking about McCain!

Well come on. You wanted Thompson to go after him. He has. Where's Huck?

“The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of South Carolina’s Republican Presidential Primary shows that John McCain and Mike Huckabee are tied at 24%. In a race that has already seen four different candidates with the lead, much could still change in the coming days—7% of voters have yet to make up their mind, 10% say there’s a good chance they could change their mind, and another 24% might change their mind.”

Actually, there is some change, with the race tightening up. Romney got a mini bounce (as expected) but McCain has dropped, along with Huckabee. It is going Fred’s way. I agree that an endorsement by Rush would be tremendous tomorrow, but I don’t look for it. I look for him to keep savaging McCain and Huckabee!

Rush certainly likes Fred Thompson as a good conservative.

I’ve been listening intently to Limbaugh the past two months, and he constantly promotes and supports Romney by REFUSING to repeat all the clap-trap baloney which the left and right tries to throw at Mitt.

Also, Rush’s upbeat voice inflection when talking about Romney is unmistakable. Yes, he made one reference to talk about Romney flip flopping. But he didn’t dwell on it, and he actually made an excuse for Romney later in the same show.

Limbaugh has come to the conclusion which many conservative Republicans have.

Which is that Fred might be the most consistent conservative.....

... but Romney is the better candidate because Romney everday is putting out a positive tax-cutting pro-family upbeat message.

Not to say that Fred doesn’t also put out a good message, but Romney has the pizazz and energetic style which attracts upbeat Republicans... which Rush certainly is.

The best thing Rush said about Fred is that Fred is the only candidate who seems to be gaining support in S. Carolina, even though he notes that Fred is still below Romney in vote percentage.

Why not choose a candidate of your very own and go with it?
__________

What a shameful suggestion. People should think for themselves?

I was on another thread (Huckabee: Anybody with an IQ above Broccoli, knows I am a Conservative. I noticed that you (and your ping list) were absent on that thread. I'm curious, do you have an opinion on that statment by him?

Excellent tongue in cheek jab. Love it! And I don't even care that Bush-41 doesn't like the vegitable. He eats pork rinds, anyway.

Do you think Fred Thompson has asked Rush to interview him, and Rush has refused? Has Rush said he specifically would NOT interview any of the candidates? I don’t know, I’m just asking.

I agree, if he really wants him to win he must push for him. Tomorrow is open line Friday, perhaps he will take many calls from Fred Heads if he refused to out and out endorse him publicly.

Here's how I see it: Romney is talking all conservative now but governed as a liberal. That means one of two things. He either pandered to Massachusetts liberals and is telling the rest of the country what he's really like, or he's really a Massachusetts liberal and is pandering to the whole country to get the GOP nod. Problem is, I have no way of knowing which is the truth.

In order to get elected here in MA Romney had to come in somewhere in the middle.....he had an ALL DEM/LIB legislature that bucked and veteod him every step of the way, he did get the occassional thing through but mostly he was veteod. It was a no win situation for him.

The NRA seems to be playing the same game, but in their case, Huckabee has a decent record on 2nd Amendment issues as well as Fred. They may just be content to wait, but I think it’s dangerous to not at least name the only acceptable candidates because they risk having no one to endorse by the time we get to the general election.

It’s not moving fast enough to close the gap.
Not without a serious push for Fred, like an official endorsement from Rush.

um, Charles. Route66 merely posted an article by Chris Davis of the National Ledger. He did not “force (his) views on Rush”. He posted an interesting article that he wanted to share. Are you, like John McCain, wishing to take away first amendment rights (on FR to boot)?

He actually governed in a conservative manner, for a liberal state. In fact, his rating for accomplishments, while not good, is comparable to some republican governors in much more conservative states.

Fred has said this isn’t so, said it loud and clear. Are you here to promote lies or do you have any truthful arguments to share?

Rush is not going to endorse Thompson, before Friday or before the Convention. He has hinted and winked, but he will not endorse. He wants to be in a position to support whatever candidate emerges, and I cannot blame him for that.

And, at the end of the day, Rush runs a radio program (in addition to the rest of America, of course). If only 30% of his listeners prefer Thompson, he will be annoying 70% of them with an endorsement at this juncture. He did not get where he is today by annoying 70% of his audience.

Fred has said his support of McCain-Feingold was a mistake.

That’s the most accurate assessment of Romney that I’ve seen on here. I cannot site doctrinal problems with Romney ... he is simply so manufactured and rehearsed that I get the feeling he’s telling me what I want to hear, rather than what he actually believes.

You mean like the difference between a professional business presentation and the off-the-cuff commentary by some sluff off the street? Yeah, one looks much more polished, and yeah, I might believe the bum more.
