There is no end to the idiocy. Don’t they know that vote buying is illegal?

Remind me again where this money would come from? We already in a deficit so it’s not like there’s a surplus to cut it from.

Just as long as they give a “rebate” to someone who never paid “in” in the first place. That is just galling.

Actually, I’d prefer a line giving me a tax break on something else... A rebate is giving my money away to someone else.

More proof, as if any were needed, that we are governed by cynical crooks.

I have always hated “rebates” of this type, because they are an admission that taxes are too high but people take exactly the opposite message from it.

The rebates would likely be limited to individuals with incomes of $85,000 or less

Woo Hoo!

If they give out $150 billion to stimulate the economy, they had too much of our money to begin with.

How about reducing the taxes on corporations and small business owners (ya know, the eeeeevil rich who employ people and pay salaries and wages). How about making the country more friendly to investment capital.

***The rebates would likely be limited to individuals with incomes of $85,000 or less and couples with incomes of $110,000 or less, ****

And those who pay NO taxes will feel left out so there must be something in it for them. That is what happened with the last tax rebate.

The reason I support this is because it makes a clear and obvious example of the Republicans philosophical tax mantra: money is better spent in the hands of taxpayers and actually increases government coffers in the long run.

What if they cut gasoline taxes by 50%? It’s not helping that fuel prices are higher at the same time we’re having a slowdown. The only problem with that is they would cut the taxes, and then later reinstitute them.
