The night before the burial of her husband's body, Katherine Cathey refused to leave the casket, asking to sleep next to his body for the last time. The Marines made a bed for her, tucking in the sheets below the flag. Before she fell asleep, she opened her laptop computer and played songs that reminded her of "Cat," and one of the Marines asked if she wanted them to continue standing watch as she slept. "I think it would be kind of nice if you kept doing it," she said. "I think that's what he would have wanted."
I thank God I can understand this kind of love.

This was so touching.
It was all I could do to keep from crying for this devoted wife. Tears are still welling up as I write.
I am raising a prayer up on her behalf for strength in her loss.

Our family thanks God for these people every night. My children will always know the sacrifices made by them and their families.

Going through all the photos was a very moving experience.
I’m sitting here with tears in my eyes, and I’ve got to start getting ready to go to work.
Those images will be staying with me for a very long time.

Thanks for the link to her video and what she said about why she stayed with him. I can hardly type this..but she was pregnant and put a picture of his baby's ultra sound in in casket with him, over his heart.
I pray this girl is doing OK.
