To me, the abortion question is telling. It tells me that independents and Democrats infiltrated the GOP primary.
McCain is pretty solidly pro-life, so those voters didn’t vote for him because of his position. Rudy is characterized, I think a bit unfairly, as the pro-choice candidate.
So who were these voters who supported McCain?
If you are the guest speaker at a pro-abortion dinner it is easy to get that reputation.

And, the CNN information regarding whether the voter described himself as liberal moderate or conservative, the MAJORITY of McCain voters said they were NOT conservative.....
If I had to bet a fair number of them were mugged by reality them morning of 9/11/2001.
