PEACEMAKER Thinks Laws Apply to Others: Week 9–Westminster, MD 1-12-08-PIC HEAVY

What a FANTASTIC day in Westminster, thanks to the “Fantastic Four + 1” (Mr. & Mrs. T, BufordP, and Fraxinus and Olney-Keith)! Flags and signs displayed proudly made for a pleasurable and fun Rally. PatrioticMarineMom, her hubby, Chris, Bob and I were happy to have the Olney FReepers join us. There was plenty of conversation and a very eventful day! One man was talking to us about his son who had recently graduated from Marines Boot Camp in Parris Island, SC.

Again, we received many beeps, waves and thumbs up. Around 1:45pm, a member of Women in Black (WIB) showed up with her wonderful video camera! Have to get that coverage for the Secret Justice News crew! Dressed in black, she began video taping as she waited for the rest of her group. And guess who was next to show up? Grim Reaper/Death! Olney-Keith picked him out right away. After exiting his vehicle, Grim Reaper/Death walks to the other side and puts on his costume. Thank goodness this is only the 2nd time we’ve seen Grim Reaper/Death standing across from us. We questioned where his tights were, his costume was so hideous. Our side made a few comments when Grim Reaper/Death spewed his BS about us only fighting this war for OIL. I asked loudly “Where is your bike?” He sure doesn’t have a problem using that OIL to protest the war that we supposedly kill and maim for. There was a bit of a bantering between our visiting supporters and the moonbats, which was pretty entertaining. Olney Keith held his own and made some good points, as well as BufordP and Mr. T. We were caught off guard when one of them that resembles Howard Stern (no insult intended) walked over to our side with his colorful peace sign. I have to give him credit for making a kind gesture towards us. He walked up to each one of us and basically wished us a good year and the hope that our loved ones would return home safely. He then walked to the other side and joined his group of 11. They outnumbered us by 1, if you consider Grim Reaper/Death as ALIVE!

Then there was the obstinate peacemaker that disobeyed the law. Too bad Brad Brown, Founder of Carroll County Progressives wasn’t there to enforce the law as he seems to have a desire of doing. The woman stood right in front of the crosswalk and although not our job to enforce the law, Mr. T felt she needed to be aware of it. As comments were being made, she just stood there shaking her head while blocking the crosswalk, forcing 2 pedestrians to walk around her. She was totally oblivious to everything around her as she held her “Blessed are the Peacemakers” sign. I guess she thinks lawbreakers are peacemakers too.

A member of WIB, whom we believe to be USAMom, swapped her peace flag for a USA flag. Olney-Keith made a comment that she felt guilty and decided to buy the flag. Seems pretty coincidental, especially after the desecration of the USA flag was mentioned on the GOE site, where she has signed up and posted. Convenient or genuine Patriotism?

Two ladies approached us on separate occasions to inquire about our cause. They agreed with our stance and plan on joining us in the future. One lady shook each of our hands and we gave her some information. Another lady started talking to us about seeing the peace protestors and their signs, which she did not agree with and quite frankly, made her sick. This young lady pointed out that they wouldn't be protesting if it weren’t for our brave young men and women fighting for our freedom of speech. She informed us of the strong military background her family had. Also mentioned that she applied to the Army and passed the test, but because she had asthma, smoked and was flat footed, they couldn’t accept her. She talked about being in Parris Island to see a Marine graduate. I shared our experience of being in Parris Island to see PatrioticMarineMom’s son graduate. We concurred that the ceremony was very impressive and gave us goose bumps. She went to chat to the others of our group, picked up a sign and stood the line with us. I took down her name and number since she was interested in joining us sometime, hopefully on 1-19-08. I offered her some of our signs but she took a look and told me that she wouldn’t mind making some of her own.

A fun, enjoyable and entertaining Rally for sure! We are making great progress, despite the nay sayers, such as the one guy that said “I really think you are wrong on this issue.” I said “That’s OK, that’s your opinion. Only noticed 1 person flip us the bird and it was no Eagle! No problem. Eagles and FReepers were in full force today!

As we wrapped up for the day, a treat was in store for us. Sgt. Wright, Army Airborne came by to thank us as we all proudly shook his hand. A confirmation that we are appreciated by the true heroes that we are supporting. Moments like that - my friends, is what it's all about!

Trooprally says: "[Mrs] T, BufordP, Fraxinus and I loaded up our car and left directly from the Olney FReep for Westminster. After a quick lunch at Burger King (I took several missed turns to get into the shopping center. Jeez, for being a small rural town, it sure is hard for this left handed Polock to navigate around) we arrived to see PatrioticMarineMom and RockerMom2MyHero and their families already there. We all quickly set up.

The U.S./USMC flag I held towered above the parked cars and was noticable from a ways off. One guy drove by and yelled “Semper Fi”, which PMM’s husband, a former Marine himself, quickly saluted.

The local police were absent today. But an officer pulled up and reminded us about the 10 foot rule, then pulled away. Apparently the police require protesters to stand 10 feet apart and not gather if holding signs.

There was a SUV parked immediately next to where I was standing. A lady was sitting in it and looked like she was getting ready to leave. [Mrs] T walked up the block to drive our car down and get into her space. But as soon as the lady pulled out, Death pulled in with his large SUV. I quickly called [Mrs] T to tell her to leave our car where it was. The lady seemed to be saving the space for Death.

Normally the police don’t allow us to ‘converse’ with the moonbats. But without them there, some lively bantering took place. We mostly commented about their signs except for the idiot moonbat who stood in the crossing ramp. Cars are super alert about stopping for people in the crosswalk. So several cars stopped when they saw her.

We saw Olney-Keith coming down the street from a block away. Not sure why but he’s easy to pick out. With some quick ‘hellos’ he grabbed a sign and proudly stood with us. Olney-Keith is a great FReeper to have with you. He knows his stuff and can argue down any moonbat.

We always enjoy ourselves in Westminster. If you can spare a Satuday afternoon, stop on by. Great FReepers/Eagles are there, always friendly. PatrioticMarineMom who started the FReep has a son going to Iraq in March. She and her family needs your support."

I almost made the same mistake, my computer spacing put part of the first sentence up on the end of the picture border.

It made for confusion in the direction of the remark. I had to read it twice too. It was a great response to the moonbats when read as a complete sentence.
