Huck’s toast....and so is Fred.
It will be between McCain and Romney.
(sigh)

If Fred was really responsible for Huckster’s defeat, Fred deserves the highest accolades. Huckster was flip-flopping daily from his actual record in Arkansas. But he could not foll all the voters in SC.

"He had one goal and one goal only -- to distort Mike Huckabee's record "

Distort his record, man he is a liberal, run on what you are and stop whining. Actually, I don't know which is the biggest A-hole McCain are Huckebee.

Exactly. Fred likely would have won had Huckabee not been in the race. That’s just the nature of primaries where there are more than two people running.

I truly believe Fred tried his heart out for a victory. Fred would not have put his heart and soul into his campaign to merely to help McCain. I really hoped Fred would pull this off, but at least he brought Huckabee down a notch or two. I think he did our party a great service.

This comes from Ed Rollins who looks nuttier every time I see him interviewed.

Huck picked a horrible campaign manager who will become serious baggage at some point.

““Fred Thompson did his job. He couldn’t help McCain win in 2000 as national co-chair but tonight he helped him win. I don’t want to take away anything from McCain, he has been here for eight years, and he had great organization. We knew it would be close,” Rollins said, adding Thompson “split votes for us. He knows he’s not viable, he’s not going to win and isn’t really campaigning but did enough to do his job.”

That quote is from fox news headline story on SC.

"Fred hurt us in South Carolina," Beasley began. "He had one goal and one goal only -- to distort Mike Huckabee's record so John McCain could pull it out. No ifs, ands or buts about it...

To hell with the Huckster’s camp. Fred went there to win for himself. There’s no conspiracy here.

If Fred drops out, I guess it’s Romney then. I will have nothing to do with Mike Huckabee or John McCain, and Rudy is toast, anyhow. At least Mitt Romney has a squeaky clean home life, is intelligent and has met a payroll.

Sad...

This really bothers me, because the only distortions being thrown about seemed to be by proponents of Huckabee.

Poor show.

I hope Fred stays in, regardless of the outcome of the voting. He’s picking up at least some delegates. He’ll have some bargaining position in an open convention. He’s the only one I trust.

Hang in there, Fred.

Take a flying leap at a rolling donut, Huckastupid.

First, let’s get something on the table: I have never in my life been MORE disgusted with a politician - not Nixon, not Clinton, not nobody - than I was tonight when I saw Mike Huckabee have the ASTOUNDING gall to stand up and say that the top two finisher ran a clean campaign and he was proud that he finished as he did “honorably”

I have moved from finding the man an unacceptable candidate, all the way to finding him a clear and present danger not just to his party, but to his faith and to his nation - I would not only vote for Hillary Clinton over this man, in a two horse race I would CAMPAIGN for her.

That being the case, IF we postulate - just for the sake of argument - that Thompson’s only purpose in the race is to take out Huckabee (laughable on the face of it since Thompson got in when EVERYONE thought Huckabee’s campaign would be as stillborn as Tommy Thompson’s and Tom Tancrado’s but still, for the sake of argument...) then I can only say that Fred Thompson has done as much for this nation in so doing as McCain did in all his years of military service, if not more.

I despise everything McCain holds dear, politically, I hate him with a passion for his repeated undermining of conservative principles but even so, having seen what I have seen in the last month from Huckabee, it’s an easy slam dunk for me to recognize that a Huckabee nomination is about 40,000,000 times worse for our party, our faith, and our country, as a McCain nomination is.

The pundits are so full of nonsense. Mike Huckabee can barely capture Southern Baptist evangelicals. He has played the spoiler in this nomination process with his identity politics and populism.

After Huckabee's gracious concession speech -- in which he had nothing but kind words for John McCain who he said showed great "civility" -- former SC Gov. David Beasley, a Huckabee surrogate, railed against Thompson.

Kudos to MSNBC writer Domenico Montanaro for accurately describing what happened.

Huckabee, as usual, stands there with a halo over his head while the destruction takes place.

THE FORMER GOVENOR OF SOUTH CAROLINA IS A ‘POOR’ LOOSER.
PERHAPS FRED THOMPSON HAD AN ULTERIOR MOTIVE BUT IT’S CALLED POLITICS.
IS THE FORMER GOVENOR THAT NAIVE NOT TO REALIZE THE MOVE.
NOW SOMEONE WILL DEFEAT McCAIN.
WE CONSERVATIVES DO NOT WANT McCAIN, OR HUCKABEE, AS A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE.
WE ALREADY HAVE THE ICE QUEEN AND OBAMA TO OVERCOME. NO NEED FOR A LIBERAL RIN0 SUCH AS A McCAIN.
McCAIN IS A NICE GUY AND A WAS HERO. DOES THAT GIVE HIM THE RIGHT TO THINK HE SHOULD BE THE REPUBLICAN NOMINEE FOR PRESIDENT?
IF SO WHAT FOOLS WE MORTALS BE

A friend in Greenville SC told me last nite folks were turning against the slimey huckster at the last min. Word went via phones that “to stop the huckster, McCain was the way to vote” “A Fred vote was a wasted vote.”

Not sure of this and cant follow the logic but just passing on info.

Evangelicals were turning away from Huckster at the last min it appears. He will be gone soon and will remain just a bad joke.

Not sure what will happen with Thompson but it doesnt look good now.

All three of you can go pound sand. I will NEVER vote for you, Mr. Huckabee. You are a worthless, disgusting POS socialist scumbag. I'm glad I supported Fred, if for no other reason than to see your worthless RINO ass spanked.

BTW, Mr. Rollins, RE your statement about kicking Mitt's teeth out: I hope to meet you in person someday so I can kick your teeth out. You're a worthless little puke who isn't fit to shine Senator Thompson's shoes. Hell, you aren't fit to clean his toilet.

FOAD you inbred losers.
