NOw I am feeling a tremendous sense of liberation. With the results of yesterdays primaries, it is clear that as a conservative, I no longer have a home in the Republican party.
Having caucused with my county committee, I will now return my membership card ini the mail along with a resignation letter. I will then hustle down to my Town Office and register as an Independent voter.
I will now vote for the candidate who is conservative on issues I consider important, regardless of party.. If the local democrat or libertarian is better in my view than the Republican, I will vote for them without hesitation.
Amen!! I hate to be in the postion of a kook, but damn,LOL!
Drastic measures for drastic times, and I understand.
I can think of a few pro life libertarians who I could vote for over most Republicans nowadays.
THE PROBLEM IN THESE PRIMARIES ARE THE INDEPENDENTS!
WHY DO REPUBLICANS ALLOW INDEPENDENTS TO INFLUENCE THE SELECTION OF THEIR NOMINEE?
KEEP INDEPENDENTS OUT OF THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARIES!
IT IS POLITICAL SUICIDE.
sory for yelling.
LOL! Rinos abound, sure, but you actually think there are conservative's that get a welcoming campaign support from the Democratic Party in 2008+? Ha! Who? Someone like Jim Webb? Lieberman or Zell "Spitball" Miller?
The baby boomers have raised their children to embrace socialism.
The question is not whether you're going to be able to have a Duncan Hunter in the whitehouse, but whether or not we'll have minority leaders in the House and Senate who will be able to put the brakes on the socialist gime-gimme train, or if we're just going to accelerate into the handbasket.
During the Goldwater election, you could point to Reagan as an up and comer.
Today, the up-and-comers are? Even Rush and Levin can't put their fingers on an example of a conservative.
Russell Kirk was right. Conservative rout.
