Thank you Quix. Those pots sit on that shelf to admire, lol. My grandkids know NOT to touch them.
As to cooking, Mexico sells cooking pottery but I would never use it because of possible lead content.

Like my cut glass collection, pewter only comes in one color!
Well, maybe two, polished or tarnished, lol.

I put a light clear coating of my “special” mixture on pewter to prevent oxidation
Usually a good beer followed by rinsing well works.....
I have some silver that had a coating put on it. Then it wore off in places and was the devil to clean.
Also, I found that if you run pewter through the dishwasher it comes out bright and shiny!! Must be something in the dishwashing soap.
