Obama and his Rezko ties
Chicago Sun-Times ^ | 4-23-2007 | Tim Novak

Posted on 01/20/2008 10:45:59 AM PST by toddlintown

Obama has been friends with Rezko for 17 years. Rezko has been a political patron to Obama and many others, helping to raise millions of dollars for them through his own contributions and by hosting fund-raisers in his home.

Obama, who has worked as a lawyer and a legislator to improve living conditions for the poor, took campaign donations from Rezko even as Rezko's low-income housing empire was collapsing, leaving many African-American families in buildings riddled with problems -- including squalid living conditions, vacant apartments, lack of heat, squatters and drug dealers.

“The jig is up!”

That was a really, really unfortunate choice of words.

It sounds like Barak Hussein Obama has a lot in common with the Clinton’s. It doesn’t matter where the money comes from it all about being able to cover it up.

HMMMM......
He endorsed Dick Daley for mayor and Cook County Democratic Machine candidate Todd Stroger for County Board president. He shystered for an indicted slumlord who gifted him with a shady sweetheart real estate deal. Hardly unique behavior in Illinois politics. But please don’t try to tell us you are the candidate of “change.”

"The jig is up!”>>>>>>>>>> Noun: any of various old rustic dances involving kicking and leaping, a device that holds a piece of machine work and guides the tools operating on it, a fisherman's lure with one or more hooks that is jerked up and down in the water, music in three-four time for dancing a jig.

Political correctness. It is insidious.

One way that liberal fascism works it's black magic.

LOL.

I wonder how big the Obama skeleton closet is? His Kenya section would take up a whole gymnasium.

Apparently, in the bad old days “jig” was interchangeable with the n-word.

How do I know this? 1989’s “Harlem Nights” set in the thirties used it liberally.

I also recall “jigaboo” being spat out by one of the baddies in 1984’s “Police Academy” (Bubba Smith then proceeds to tear him a new one).

And they say Hollywood can’t teach history.

“Really? Explain it to me.”

jig is an often used shorthand for jigaboo, a terribly insulting word to blacks.

Deeper and deeper...

So the firm of Davis Miner Barnhill & Galland is going to be this year’s Rose Law Firm and Mr. Rezko is going to be the new Dan Lasater/Jim McDougall?

Of course all Barack has to do is send his minions to dust off all the old Clinton scandals and the half of the MSM that is in HIS pocket will treat them like new revelations from on high.

the jig is up (simple past the jig was up)

(US, idiomatic) An expression used to mean “We have been caught out and have no defence”, or if spoken to a person who’s just been found out as the perpetrator of an offense, it means “You’ve been discovered.”

1753, The Skipper
We knew then the jig was up, and it was no grin matter for us.

1833, Seba Smith (as Jack Downing), The life and writings of Major Jack Downing, of Downingville, away down East in the State of Maine, Lilly, Wait, Colman & Holden, page 176,
When I first told ‘em how the jig was up with us, that the British were going to have the land, without any fighting about it, I never see fellows so mad before in my life, unless it was Major Eaton at Washington when he sot out to flog Mr. Ingham.

1920, Champ Clark, My Quarter Century of American Politics, Harper & brothers, page 96,
After I had returned home in the spring of 1893 from Washington, where I saw so many gray-haired men who had held high elective office begging for the crumbs from Cleveland’s table, I gave my wife an account of what I observed, and told her that when the jig was up for me I would hasten back to Missouri to begin the practice of law once more and be a man among men.

2007, Mary Newport, in Jerry Newport and Mary Newport, Mozart and the Whale: An Asperger’s Love Story, Simon and Schuster, ISBN 074327282X, page 248,
The universe works in strange ways: just when you think the jig is up, you get a second chance.

[edit] Synonyms
Gotcha!
the game is up

[edit] Alternative forms
jig’s up
one’s jig is up
one’s jig’s up
the jig’s up

There’s more, but I’ve decided to be somewhat niggardly with further info.

Last I heard he was spewing about not being beholden to any interest groups or campaign contributers. The closet of O is still closed, we will see as time progresses what is really in his closet and how these special interests who are supporting him will spin, twist and cover up the blemishes from the voting public. The dream candidate I hope will soon turn out to be the nightmare on elm street.

“Try reading post 14 and take your PC crap somewhere else.”

I’m not being PC, Frances. Unbunch your panties.

My initial comment was half tongue in cheek, but it really was an unfortunate choice of words.

The only PC around my house runs Linux.

“it really was an unfortunate choice of words.”

No it isn’t; it’s part of the English language. Haven’t seen anyone complain about a legitimate part of English language on FR in a coon’s age.
