Edwards' 'butt kicked,' but he'll continue

John Edwards vowed today to continue his quest for the Democratic presidential nomination, despite a poor showing in the Nevada caucuses.

"I got my butt kicked in Nevada," Edwards said on the CBS news program "Face the Nation."

But he vowed to dust himself off and continue campaigning for Saturday's Democratic presidential primary in South Carolina -- the state where he was born and the site of his biggest success during his last presidential bid.

"All my life, when that has happened to me," Edwards said, "you just got to get up and start fighting, particularly when you are fighting for the cause of your life."

Edwards has lost the first three tests of the Democratic primary. But he was competitive in Iowa and New Hampshire. In Nevada, Edwards won only 4 percent compared with 51 percent for Sen. Hillary Clinton and 45 percent for Sen. Barack Obama.

This is the same newspaper that endorsed John Kerry on 2004.

I didn’t renew my subscription.

He'll get steamrolled in SC this time. SC has a large black population and they're already split between Obama and Hillary.

Interesting. Go John! The socialist/collectivist with the least amount ok skeletons in his closet. He is probably waiting until Hillary has an irrefutable, insurmountable lead before dropping out, so he can give her a backdoor endorsement.

Notice how he is being praised for his perseverance even though he hasn’t won anything. Thompson, on the other hand, has Fox News running a poll about whether he should drop out.
Pathetic.

Edwards job is too siphon far left support from Obama. The only reason he is hanging in there is to keep doing that for Hillary so she will reward him with another shot at VP.

Has Fox News become an Air America affiliate? It seems like it.

All I know is that no matter who your candidate is, we should all be sick of Fox News trying to influence the race and pick our President.

I call BS. If he’d had his butt kicked, he’d have died of brain damage.

"I got my butt kicked in Nevada,"

Was it from that Other America that handed him his ass?

Edwards was born in SC. Will be interesting to see how it goes for him in SC (here).

CNN didn’t cut out in the middle of Fred’s great speech, either. I think we should all boycott Fox News at this point. I am.
