Anybody on the GOP side is better then the RATS. We’re in no position this election cycle to be picky.

Isn’t SCJ important? Wouldn’t we get great picks from McCain?

"He is a true war hero, and a fine man."

Okay, I have to ask. What make McCain a war hero? I know he was shot down, captured and spent several years in captivity. But so did many others. Are they heroes equal to him? Then what about those who receive the Medal of Honor? Are they on the same level? If so why the extra recognition?

I honor those who served. But personal war time events do not qualify or entitle anyone to political power.

I can't and won't try to judge who through more went through more. It's all terrible. But we need to put emotion aside in important matters regarding the nation.

As far as McCain being a fine man, his actions as a senator don't bear that out. He can't be trusted to uphold Republican or conservative principals. He's proven that. Yet he does not have the honor or decency to officially join those with whom he consorts against his fellow Republicans.

McCain is one of five trains headed for that light coming at them from the end of that tunnel. If your kids have never seen a train wreck get ‘em a front row seat for this November.

Let’s hope. Let’s hope Fred’s mom is telling him today, ‘Win one for the Gipper!’

Apparently, you do not live in Florida.

The “moderates” here will vote McCain/Mitt
Most conservatives will vote Fred.
Most of the rest will vote Rudy.

And most of the rest is more than all of the rest left over.

I don’t usually vote for anyone that calls me names. I don’t forget either.
Guess McCain will have to be satisfied with my ‘virtual vote’.

My 2 cents:

I'm jumping the gun a little but here it goes:

I would have an easier time voting for Romney/Thompson ticket if Thompson were added to appease the conservative voters.

I would also have an easier time voting McCain/Thompson over any D ticket as long as Thompson were there to ease conservative concern. We would also get on track for the next run with that kind of ticket. It's not a bad idea to think 8 years (or more) ahead.

I hope I am wrong, but I’ll bet you a nickel Thompson endorses McCain. I just wonder how many Freepers will be choking on crow pie, when they find out the Thompson kool-aide they’ve been drinking ain’t washing it down.

Regardless whether it puts a Dem in the White House, it will certainly put a LIBERAL in the White House since McCain himself is a liberal.
______________

A Republican liberal in the White House can be worse than a Democrat.

A Republican liberal president would be able to invoke party loyalty to get liberal initiatives passed, getting votes from GOP representatives and senators who would oppose the same policies if a Democrat were proposing them. Would we have received “No child left behind” or Medicare prescriptions if Mr. Gore been elected in 2000? Maybe not.

Also, a Republican liberal president would undoubtably be recognized as a “conservative” or even “arch-conservative” by the mainstream media and popular culture. Such an identification would confuse the electorate in future election cycles, making it harder to elect a true conservative in the future.

But what would we do if it comes down to McLame or the Hilda beast in the general?

I write in "Bullwinkle." They are both owned by China...

Like Teddy Roosevelt and the "Bull Moose" party, we need the "Bullwinkle" party.

"You’ve got to wonder if he would be worth electing, and what it would do to whatever remains of the Republican Party"

No need to wonder, his recent record makes it plain what a McCain administration would look like.

Six votes in my household and not one will EVER be cast toward McCain.  If the people in the GOP primaries nominate this traitor, then they are knowingly handing the election to the Democrats (or worse,  a traitor in GOP clothing).

I am beside myself wondering what is wrong with the people voting in these primaries.  Apparently they're swallowing the MSM and elite GOP kool-aid, loving every drop.

Everyone just STFU! If it’s McCain so be it. Give this guy 4 years to prove himself. If he fcuks us then we fcuk him.

Isn’t there 2 liberal SCJ waiting GWB out? You know who we’ll get if Clinton or Obama is POTUS. I’ll put faith in McCain’s choices.

Is that post a parody or I am supposed to take it seriously? BTW, how many human beings have been killed by Wahhabi Jahadists worldwide vs. abortionists right here in the United States?

Even if hillary were in she could not change the direction of the current court.

The most likely to retire by far are Ginsburg and Souter, and you just can’t get any worse that that.

We are in every position to be “picky” for crying out loud.
The GOP needs us to win and even more, it needs us to survive.

If the GOP is rushing leftward with these RINOs and their policies, then I’m staying at the station until the GOP gets back on track. - somewhere around 2012, I would think.

Until then its either shape up, or brush up - on history. - Whigs.

We are political junkies here. We know the difference between conservatives and John McCain. Most Americans think John McCain IS a conservative. If McCain takes the nation over the cliff, which I believe he will, we get blamed for his ignorance and arrogance.

This should be Post of the Day.

Most Americans think that George Bush is the arch-conservative leader of their lifetimes. You'd better believe that the current backlash against all things conservative, including the aenemic poll showing of the hard right candidates, is due to displeasure over "President Bush and all his conservatism".

That may make people laugh on FR, but to most Americans, they're not kidding. They think President Bush is a hard core conservative, and are specifically resistant to anyone who identifies as such.

Train wreck? ... I don’t think so.

His liberal record and ‘maverick’ reputation plays well with independents. We’ve already seen this in the primaries. And if Hillary wins the nomination, as it appears she will, the base will be out in force to vote against her.

This combination gives him the best shot to win in November, out of our GOP candiates.

If Obama is nominated, we’re toast.

How can you possible put any faith in McCain after he has shown that he revealed his outrageous amnesty agenda that includes selling out this country? He is creepy and not mentally stable enough or physically strong enough to defeat Hillary.
