Wow, some of those responses are creepy, and I don't mean the Paulitical ones. Looking for a "new generation" of leadership is like "voting for change"...what does it mean? Nothing really. Every new leader is technically a new generation of leadership, and "wanting change" makes us feel good without charging us anything up front...but what people really want is for today to be pretty much like yesterday. People don't DEAL well with "change". Overall, we like routine. Right now, we're in a period of change and everybody's as hysterical as that proverbial little chicken.

What we REALLY NEED is somebody capable of dealing with the changes while keeping our country on as even a keel as possible: keeping tomorrow like yesterday with a job to go to so we can pay our bills.

That somebody is Fred Thompson.
