“Not only does he look 90, he’s got Wilfred Brimley’s endorsement. Quaker Oatmeal, anyone?”

LOL. McCain has gotten alot of endorsements from yesterday’s establishment figures, kissinger, old ghwb admin figures, etc. ... they are average age of 90 or so...

Gramm probably remembers McCain back 20 years ago when they were both conservative. Gramm left the senate in 2002. He must not be paying attention to what McCain has done since then.

“Romney/McCain = Economy/foreign policy”

Hmm. Never thought of that one ... If they can stand each other, maybe so.

Rudy had set up these as WTA states that would fall into his column, so much for that.

Rudy's big mistake was to overestimate the number of homosexuals in the country. He had bought into the exaggerated numbers (more than 10 percent). So, the core of his base has turned out to be much smaller than he anticipated and that's why his results have been so dismal. And, I think it's too late now for him to change his strategy.

He's a goner.

McCain’s pro-life and pro-gun, is he? Is that why he’s taken two state right-to-life organizations to court to stop them from airing ads against pro-abortion democrat incumbents, under the banner of his personal jihad against the 1st Amendment? Is that why he joined with Senate democrats to co-sponsor a bill closing the “gun show loophole”, bringing us one step away from total gun registration?

I did leave open the possibility that you’re not a leftist (the term “liberal is utterly meaningless), just someone who doesn’t know the first thing about John McCain and his record (other than the “hero” bit). There are only two options with McQueeg supporters: they’re either willfully ignorant or insidious.

That’s a good point but still don’t count on it happening. I don’t know JC personally or have any connection with him, but trust me, it’s not a possibility.

You are not describing the real, genuine Romney.

“McCain was for tax cuts.” Funny WAY OF SHOWING IT. He voted against them.

Color me sexist but I think Romney will do a good job at getting the married women vote. No on looks, anti Hilary, pro strength. By the time their primary is over there is going to be a big mistrust about Bill really calling the shots.

It is people like him who have maintained your ability to disrespect him

Actually, it's people like him who brand criticism of incumbents as "electioneering communications" and take them to court to silence them.

But frat-boys don't concern themselves with such minutia. He's a hero!

“I’ve got to bet that Romney’s prior abortion position was merely a matter of convenience since MA is a very liberal state”

Which, to me, is a bigger sin than *actually being pro choice*....

“that he’ll follow a more conservative path in the future”

If you’re blown about so easily by the winds of change there is no telling what shore you will land on. Enough political pressure for amnesty and Mitt will grant it..

“Yeah, and soft on borders, for amnesty, voted against tax cuts”

Ill give you the amnesty but not the vote against tax cuts, it was a principled stand because Bush and the GOP were spending like drunken sailors!

That's very perceptive and I think you're right. People have had enough of Bill and he's reminding us of that.

“Sorry, while McCain clearly was tortured during his imprisonment, that doesn’t make him an expert on the war on terror.”

The most vocal supporter of the surge among the folks still running *PERIOD*. And being tortured makes him an expert on what torture is..

“But as Governor of Mass, his record was fairly conservative — both in record and rhetoric.”

Good post. NRA gave Romney a B in 2002.

Romney was about as fiscal and social conservative as any governor in Massachusetts in memory with those actions. It may not be saying much relative to red state Governors, but you have to recognize he was conservative for that state. It’s not an easy feat.

To: Rational Thought

How about we focus on the FUTURE not the past?

McCain *still* wants CO2 regulations ... Romney says:

http://www.mittromney.com/News/Press-Releases/DEC_Remarks_1.13.08

“We also have to stop Washington politicians from imposing enormous unilateral energy costs on American manufacturing, including automotive manufacturing. For example, the McCain-Lieberman bill pending in Congress unilaterally imposes new high energy costs on U.S. manufacturers, with no safety valve. The Energy Information Agency estimated that this bill would raise electric rates by as much as 25% and gasoline by as much as 68 cents a gallon. And their estimate of the cost in U.S. jobs - 300,000 jobs. So it’s not just a job killer, it would also make it harder for families to make their ends meet.

“Now of course we have to tackle the threat of climate change. But we don’t call it America warming, we call it global warming. Placing caps and taxes on the U.S. alone just drives manufacturers to China and India, and does little more than make Washington politicians feel welcome at the embassy cocktail parties.”

MCCAIN IS WRONG, ROMNEY IS RIGHT.

Who do I trust to be better on handling the global warming issue without caving to liberal eco-extremists? Mitt Romney.
