No. My decision is based on the fact that Romney cannot win. What don’t you people understand??? He CANNOT win. We will lose in a massive landslide. How can we give the Dems a mandate? How will you live with yourselves when you make up the day after election day and we have lost the South even to Hillary and suffered defeats in the senate that may or may not leave us clinging to 40 votes. Jesus, I cannot belive this is the likely outcome. And what will happen is now as clear as day to me...

Part of me has a feeling that ANY Republican will get creamed in 2008. This is based on 2000 and 2004 being so tight and the way people are voting in the primaries so far. Also, Bush governing as a big-government liberal and open-borders globalist has a little something to do with it. Bush was and is too illiterate and ineloquent to use the bully-pulpit to espouse conservative and American ideals.

Bush has been stubborn on the war, but he doesn't seemed grounded in conservative principles at all.

Didn’t you get the memo? FDT is done. He’s 5th in Flor. He’s a non-starter. Awesome guy, as is Duncan Hunter, but you folks need to accept reality and let go already...

Romney only believes in amnesty when it’s called something else.

When do the candidates generally pick their VP? I keep seeing posts with different scenarios and was wondering about timing. Thanks.

FORCING businesses to buy health care, whether private or not...

Firstly, businesses with under 10 employees are supposedly exempt.

But I am sure that will not appease your animosity.... so I implore you to read this Human Events analysis on the Romney health plan, and how it is NOT socialized medicine, and how it in effect is not all that bad.

I’ve got so much more respect for Huck, or Rudy, or Paul, or McCain supporters... At least they aren’t quitters, naysayers, urging folks to stay home or vote 3rd party... All you guys do is try and tear Mitt down, when he has a real shot at slaying the libs- on both sides... You have no alternative, just spew ypur hate and drivel... Luckily, with each passing day, more folks support Mitt, and you become that much more marginalized... And irrelevant

Jay Stephenson at Stop the ACLU hears that Fred is expected to have something to say tomorrow, perhaps in the morning.

As an aside, there was some interesting data from the latest Florida Rasmussen poll. First, Fred trails Huckabee by only 1%, 13 to 12. More significantly though, 61% of likely primary Voters view Thompson as politically conservative, 45% say the same about Huckabee and 43% view Romney as a conservative. Just 21% see McCain in that way while 14% see Giuliani as a conservative. The last poll here at FR between the top five candidates had Fred at 57.3% composite (66.7% members only). Pretty telling numbers there in my mind if the diverse State of Florida is any guide.

He also exempted his own administration:

While former Gov. Mitt Romney pressured thousands of private businesses to pay for employee health insurance, he neglected an obvious offender: his own government. That forced thousands of state contract and temporary workers to find and pay for health care on their own.

Romney's socialized medicine platform is a travesty.

I know you are sick of people asking you to read this article, or that article.

Who has time, right?

But this HUMAN EVENTS article should shed some light ....

Please skim thru it, and then get back to me.

Thanks

The only reality I see at this EARLY stage of the Primary is that you appear desperate to sell your guy....the used car salesman.

With today’s world wide Stock markets crash, Mitt’s economic expertise will start looking better and better to voters.

With a large African-American turnout and a depressed evangelical turnout, Obama would have a reasonable shot at Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia, all states where 25% or more of the population is African-American. Historically, AA have voted at a lower rate than whites in these states, so there is a potential for a lot of new voters.

Under this scenario, both Missouri and Arkansas would be in play despite having smaller AA populations. Missouri is probably a toss-up state right now and a large AA turnout in SL and KC could tip a close election to Obama. Arkansas still has a fairly large Democrat base and could become a clear majority if the AA vote is larger than normal.

I state an opinion and you call it animosity? Whatever.

I just don't want the Federal gov't to dictate what businesses should spend.

States can do what they want. The Federal Gov't should not pile any more regulation onto business, particularly costs of such magnitude.

People are finally figuring out what we've known all along, TA.

Mitt Romney is the most electable conservative.

Mitt Romney is the only one who can stop Rudy and McCain.
