Quick - someone call Gore - this can't be happening.
Besides the temperature in the cellar, I don't have anyplace left to put any more global warming residue...

Woke up to 1°F temp this morning, plus 15-20 MPH wind.
I feel for those of you in -30° F temps. That's dang cold anywhere.

I know it's cold here in mid-Maine but when I read this report to my brother, he said: "That's got to be the wind chill temp."
Nope: That's the real temp. Do not even want to know the wind chill factor - altho', mercifully, there isn't much wind today - I can tell by looking out over the tops of the pines in the forest...no about to go outside to test it...Throwing another log on the fire...

In other words...it is winter. Again.
Happens every January.
Not sure why it makes the news every January tho.

Question: Which candidate did not raise his hand when asked if he believed in “climate change?”
And...all the others started to raise their hands.

Ah yes, good to hear once again, that I made the right decision in moving South. Suddenly 20s and 30s doesn't sound so bad any more.
I miss Maine sometimes. But not in January.

North of Bangor it registered -18 this morning. Sun came out, squirrel came to eat, turkeys came to scrounge. Life goes on. Good thing this snow doesn’t drift and good thing not much wind this morning. Life is good.

Hey, all you guys - Thanks for the repartee - your posts reminded me of lots of reasons we Mainiacs 'put up with' winter here.
And now I have enough for my column - it's the far end of my deadline window and I can picture my editor watching for my email -
so I'm off to pull it together -

The good news here is that Algore and his minions have long since flown to warmer climes, where their ‘message’ might not be laughed at directly. :)
