Really? Unless her death is imminent (I haven't seen any story to that effect), spending time with your 90 year old mother, at the expense of missing the debates, stirring up all sorts of rumors, throwing in the towel, and turning his backs on conservatives... to me, it's not really a good judgement call. Just my opinion... I would have thought the cause was much bigger than that...

Flame away.

I do not think he is leaving the race. He is still in it.

His 90 year old mother has pneumonia, very often fatal for someone that is her age and as frail as she is. While I do not like the uncertainty, he owes me nothing. I will wait to see what he has to say. Will I continue to fight for Fred or wait until next go around and hope I have someone I can vote for in the general is up to him now.

His mother is in the freakin’ hospital suffering from pneumonia! What would YOU have him do - send a card and some flowers?

Sheesh...

You’re sick.

Like FRed’s going to violate his mother’s privacy and send out a press release: “Hey, leave me alone. My Mother’s dying, you ghouls!!”

If my mother was hospitalized with pneumonia at age 90, I’d be with her. Do you even realize how sick one must be these days to qualify for hospitalization and utilization review??

There was word last night she was showing some improvement. But should we expect a candidate to run the risk of not ever seeing or speaking with his mom again should she die while he’s running around the campaign trail?

Would you really do that yourself?

Unless her death is imminent (I haven't seen any story to that effect),

The first I have even heard of an "ailing" mother...only thing I heard is that he was just going to "visit"...another media blackout as the poster up thread speculated??...
