I spoke to one of my Thompson sources.
He's still with his ailing mother. "He's just being a good son."
He has not spoken to any other campaign or any other candidates, nor does he intend to at this time.
He will not endorse, I am told by this source close to Thompson.
I am also told, "he has no interest in a vice presidency or a cabinet position." At an "appropriate time" he will outline his plans for the near future.
This source believes that the race has demonstrated that whatever happens from here on out, the GOP has to stand for consistent conservative policies across the board.
At one point, I asked this source if the attitude was, 'if you can't be Reagan, be Goldwater,' and the source responded, "exactly."
If I were a betting man, I would bet on him departing the race in the not-too-distant future.
family comes first.
notice how he is keeping family private in contrast to others who use it like any other resume padder.
COME ON FREDDY HELP YOUR COUNTRY.....ENDORSE MITT...LOOK WHAT ANNIE SAYS ABOUT HIM...
One clue that Romney is our strongest candidate is the fact that Democrats keep viciously attacking him while expressing their deep respect for Mike Huckabee and John McCain.

FROM THE MOUTH OF THE SMART AND SASSY AND BEAUTIFUL CONSERVATIVE HEROINE ANNIE COULTER.......
ANYTHING MORE NEED TO BE SAID? You have your marching orders .....get out there and stump FOR MITT.
Oh and did i mention....RUSH BACKS HIM TOO....YOU GOT YOURSELF A TWOFER. See you on the campaign trail!
First Duncan, now Fred....
The only one left that I can support is Mitt, and I would do so halfheartedly.
If you’re that hyper in person, do your candidate a favor and don’t go out in public.
Pass the popcorn... this should be a good thread.
You can tell a lot about a man who chooses to be with his ailing mother. This is a man worth standing up for. Have you noticed there is no news coverage on what he is doing, just news that he may no longer be in the race. I suspect the subject is taboo since they don’t want any kind of sympathy surge for Fred.
The DUmmies are already planning on tearing Myth apart at the seams and serving his entrails at their Inauguration banquet.
You think this guy is so squeeky clean? Wait until his true business record comes out in DUmmy format. [HINT] A claim of 100,000 jobs lost due to Bain’s takeovers.
Oh, yeah, I will rejoice in seeing this pathological liar having his “six” handed to him.
Pure pablum. I have seen nothing of the kind. McCain is still pandering to global warming, Huckabee still thinks that Federal Power ought to be used to regulate the bewhoopus out of those who don't think like him, Rudy is still a cross-dresser, and Romney is still trying to make up his mind whether to raise or lower his hand.
I get tired of believing stuff from “un-named sources”. Will wait for Fred’s announcement which is to be made at an “appropriate time”. I think that appropriate time would be this evening during prime time in front of all the MSM with a great speach and an “in it for the long haul” statement!
Better yet, Fred: STAY IN AND DEFEAT THE FLIP-FLOPPER and the rest of the RINOs!
Why the h*ll would Fred do ANYTHING that Ann Coulter wishes, given her utter contempt for the man? Ann's right on many things, but WAY off base with this election, along with the entire MSM.
If FDT is not the nominee, Romney is perhaps the highest-floating turd in the bowl, but nothing more. I'd give him a 50/50 shot at winning in the general, and any of the other "floaters" even less.

Fred, we need you!
Good move, good guy.
Flame away.
A thumb in the eye to those you were spouting that “stalking horse” tripe!
Now you’re just fantasizing. There’s a nomination to think about.
Wow, candidates are always honest about their intent before dropping out... Get real, I still believe he will support McCain.
Seriously, who else in the lineup COULD he endorse? No one else comes close to conservative principles.
I do not think he is leaving the race. He is still in it.
I'm with you. We need an executive/businessman as POTUS.
