"Jane Roe" Endorses Ron Paul
Reason ^ | January 22, 2008 | David Weigel

Posted on 01/22/2008 9:24:37 AM PST by Captain Kirk

About an hour ago Norma McCorvey, a.k.a "Jane Roe" from the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, formally endorsed Ron Paul at the Phoenix Park hotel in Washington. Why didn't she endorse a frontrunner like Mike Huckabee? Thank the grassroots: She saw a newspaper ad in Nevada, bought by Paul supporters, using the analogy of the frog and the pot of boiling water to demonstrate what was happening to America. "It touched my heart." That was three weeks ago, and McCorvey keynoted a pro-life Paul rally in Nevada on January 12th, but the campaign made the official announcement today before Paul spoke at the March for Life.

McCorvey:

I support Ron Paul for president because we share the same goal, that of overturning Roe v Wade. Ron Paul doesn’t just talk about being pro-life, he acts on it. His voting record truly is impeccable and he undoubtedly understands our constitutional republic and the inalienable right to life for all. Ron Paul is the prime author of H.R. 300, which would negate the effect of Roe v. Wade. As the signor of the affidavit that legalized abortion 35 years ago I appreciate Ron Paul’s action to restore protection for the unborn. Ron Paul has also authored H.R. 1094 in Congress, which seeks to define life as beginning at conception. He has never wavered on the issue of being pro-life and has a voting record to prove it. He understands the importance of civil liberties for all, including the unborn.

No, he thinks the War on Drugs is a war on civil liberties.

I guess you support no-knock warrants?

Property seizure, where property is sold before the defendant is proven guilty?

SWAT teams breaking into houses based on anonymous tips from informants, shooting the dog, and giving Grandma a heart attack?

The seizure of cash based on the assumption that anyone carrying enough of it must be a drug dealer?

Encouraging children to inform the police on their parents?

How conservative.

If McCorvey supported your candidate, would your post have been the same?

No, he thinks the War on Drugs is a war on civil liberties.

Oh well .. .then lets all shoot up on heroin and be like Ron Paul! Let’s all ve BRAIN DEAD and be like Ron Paul!

I guess you support no-knock warrants?

Hey, if someone is breaking the law like TERROISTS, yes they really do exist, I EXPECT them to break down the dam door!

Property seizure, where property is sold before the defendant is proven guilty?

Hey, if creditors need their money and the idiot is ignoring them SEIZE IT! It has nothing to do with being proven “guilty” . The numbers speak for themselves. Our legal system isn’t as nuts as Ron Paul would like you to believe.

SWAT teams breaking into houses based on anonymous tips from informants, shooting the dog, and giving Grandma a heart attack?

Yeah ... RIGHT ... lay off the DOPE!

The seizure of cash based on the assumption that anyone carrying enough of it must be a drug dealer?

You really have no clue on how the LAW works ... the more you talk the more I see that ... As if our law enforcement had the resources to be so reckless and never mind about HUGE lawsuits that would ensue ... This is so idiotic!

Encouraging children to inform the police on their parents?

If they are being ABUSED, I want kids to report their parents - that’s a SANE thing to do! If parents are breaking the law and smoking DOPE, you bet I don’t want them as “parents” and someone to look UP to!

How conservative.

THAT is something RON PAUL IS NOT!

He’s a godless, paranoid LIBERAL playing on your imaginary fears. Ron Paul is NUTS!!!!

“If McCorvey supported your candidate, would your post have been the same?”

Frankly I’ve never heard of this kook before.

I do my own research and support who best matches my values and beliefs. I wouldn’t matter to me if Happy the Clown supported my candidate. As an individual I don’t let others sway me FROM my values and beliefs. Occassionaly a nut case can make a correct call but their checklist will be different than mine however in the case of Ron Paul, ONLY a NUTCASE could support him - he’s “out there”. Ron Paul won't win so I IGNORE him unless I want a good laugh. Thanks for the laugh!

” I guess you support no-knock warrants?

Hey, if someone is breaking the law like TERROISTS, yes they really do exist, I EXPECT them to break down the dam door!”

Actually police use them against citizens based only on word from a paid informant - IE an actual criminal drug addict.

” Property seizure, where property is sold before the defendant is proven guilty?

Hey, if creditors need their money and the idiot is ignoring them SEIZE IT! It has nothing to do with being proven “guilty” . The numbers speak for themselves. Our legal system isn’t as nuts as Ron Paul would like you to believe.”

I was referring to the use of property seizure by police.

Be accused of transporting drugs in your car, they seize and sell it before you go to trial.

” SWAT teams breaking into houses based on anonymous tips from informants, shooting the dog, and giving Grandma a heart attack?

Yeah ... RIGHT ... lay off the DOPE!”

These news stories are posted on FR all the time. One just last month.

I googled and lots came up. Here’s the first. There’s plenty more.

No knock warrant, killin’ granny. Lovely.

” The seizure of cash based on the assumption that anyone carrying enough of it must be a drug dealer?

“Frankly I’ve never heard of this kook before.”

You never heard of Roe vs Wade?

This is Jane Roe.

She was a tool of abortionists and later changed her heart and is now an anti abortion warrior.

She was a party to Roe vs Wade - and now wants to overturn it.

She endorses Dr Paul.

This is very big news.

Nmh doesn’t read those “new fangled” newspapers, much less those “fool” history books....thus he’s never heard of Roe v. Wade. Apparently, he prefers to watch professional wrestling and read the National Enquirer.

Dr. Paul has a number of stances that the GOP leadership/cheerleaders don't like.

Where he falls apart, big time, for me is his refusal to see the war on terror as a retaliatory war. his foreign policy would ensure more attacks on US soil and that I cannot abide by.

On domestic issues like abortion, RKBA, property Rights, and capitalistic markets, Paul is unbeatable.

The OP’s posts above definitely have that “fingers in my ears shouting so I can’t hear you” type attitude.

Yes, I’ve learned something all right!

Don’t engage a KOOK who supports a fellow KOOK, Ron Paul!

Have a nice isolated life dreaming of Ron Paul in the WH smoking his DOPE.
