"One bad endorsement cancels out his entire life and service?

I just can’t see that."

You have a point. Nevertheless, I suspect Hunter won't make public the real reason or reasons he supports Huckabee. Hunter has shown he has a blind spot in his reasoning.

Thanks for the links. I’d like to dig a little deeper... the issue is time. Hey, I was found guilty of I crime I didn’t commit (seriously), so maybe Huckabee can fix that for me. :-)

[...] writing in Alan Keyes will accomplish nothing other than helping the eventual socialist nominee - who, by the way, is 100% guaranteed to be anti-gun and pro-abortion.

Your suggestion, therefore, must be for me to throw my support behind Huckabee? Is that where you are going?

He and his cohort Bill Weld appointed judges that forced all 50 states to recognize their homosexual marriages.

Enough said.

Hunter undoubtedly had a closer look at Huckabee than conservative media commentators who have never met Huckabee or people commenting on a forum who have never bothered to research original sources or take a close look at what Huckabee actually says rather than what others are saying about him.

It speaks volumes that the candidates who have had a chance to get to know one another personally generally like Mike and dislike Mitt, as did the Iowa voters who were able to evaluate candidates face-to-face.

Insightful independent analysis.
Hunter and Huckabee would make a great team!
The two were on the same page throughout the debates.
Hunter and Huckabee both have the same philosophical conservative foundation.

Vote for McCain.

Senator McCain is a liberal regardless of his party affilation and he will never, never get my vote. I spent countless dollars last June and July phoning Washington fighting his Amnesty Bill, and what does he do, call me and those like me names and now all of a sudden when our votes count dearly in his White House bid, he claims to have seen the light. The bastard is a LIAR!

I have sort of been given a clue; but nothing solid yet. I think there is something brewing. Checked out both websites and nothing there.

I think it does matter. If people have concerns that you may be liberal on some issues, having a Duncan Hunter, backing you up can reassure people.

Didn’t you know. Ann’s a Romney fan.

[BUZZZZZ!] Wrong answer.

Heard her on Bill O'Reilly AND Sean Hannity and the 1st name out of mouth whenever she was asked who SHE supported, it was "Duncan Hunter....".

Maybe because of Hunter's poor polling she eventually ditched him as her 'favorite', but well, I'm not deaf.

>>His record is far from full fledged conservatism.

The reason there is so much shock here about it is because people were duped into thinking Hunter was a conservative.

He has tons of liberal votes in his record, siding with Ted Kennedy and Bill Clinton issues.<<

I don’t know that these are accurate but several sites list Hunters conservative ratings as quite high.

>>ACLU: 7% (indicates very conservative)
American Conservative Union: 92%
Americans for Better Immigration: A+
Americans for Tax Reform: 88.5%
Campaign for Working Families: 100%
Christian Coalition: 100%
Concerned Women for America: 100%
Eagle Forum: 100%
Family Research Council: 100%
Federation for American Immigration Reform: 100%
GodVoters.org: A ** NEW RATING (the ONLY A)
Gun Owners of America: A
NARAL: 0% (indicates a pro-life record)
National Federation of Independent Business: 100%
National Rifle Association: A+
National Right to Life Committee: 100%
National Tax Limitation Committee: A <<

"I think I just lost all respect for Mr. Hunter."

BINGO!

I never investigated Hunter thoroughly, but was sceptical of that "Only true conservative" crap that was bantered about here. Something always looked odd about that guy. This confirms it. He's not a principled conservative, just a one trick pony.

"Reject Mexico’s “matricula consular” card, which functions as an illegal-immigrant identification card."

ROTFLMAO! He went down to Mexico to meet with Fox so that he could bring the Mexican Consulate into Arkansas so the Illegals could get their "matricula consular" card. Not just in Arkansas, but the surrounding States.

He's a shamless piece of work.

No. I don’t like Huckabee and I certainly don’t like McCain. I can vote for Romney because I believe he most represents a conservative of the viable candidates left. I don’t like Giuliani much, but I’d have to take him at his word about nominating strict constructionists.

Here’s the thing - when it comes down to it, the most effect a President can have on social policy is through the Supreme Court selections. These are never a guarantee (Souter, for example) but I am absolutely convinced that if a socialist is elected, all new judges will be Ginsburg clones. With a potentially large gun decision looming, Supreme Court justices are going to be critical.

All my candidates are out of the race, much like you. The point is I’m going to have to bring myself to vote against the socialist.
