Pro-life,gun,family aren’t minor issues to the Republican base!

Based on the posts here they are.

The secular hallelujah chorus coming from the Thompson's no churchgoer thread, and all the Mitt-love here--and the Elmer Gantry comparisons to Huckabee, all make me think that the majority of FR has been infected with the knee-jerk anti public Christian expression crowd. The consensus here is that you can pray and read your Bible in private, but don't dare do it in public or mention you do. Such things have become unAmerican.

It's usually a spiritual "thing."

Just to let you know that you misread a whole-lotta of us with your mis-perception. Some may be that way... but some of us just have legitimate problems with ALL of the remaining candidates. We do have that right... none of mine are based on religion in the least... other than rootie. I’m not certain that I believe that he is a good Catholic. I guess it was his cheesecake pictures that did it.

Huckabee wants to change the Constitution in the name of religion. That’s unnecessary. Huckabee plays the “I’m more Christian than they are” game. That’s disingenous of him.

I am a Bible-believing Christian who holds many of what would be called “fundamentalist” views. I have no problem with a person who is open about their faith-I think they shouldn’t be anything but open, unless they’re ashamed, which we are not to be. I still won’t vote for Huckabee.

the knee-jerk anti public Christian expression crowd. The consensus here is that you can pray and read your Bible in private, but don't dare do it in public or mention you do. Such things have become unAmerican.

I'm a Christian, read that born again, and I take issue with Huckabee because of his positions, past and present, just like I take issue with Romney's, past and present. Their religions and religious beliefs do not enter my concerns political....see, it's NOT ABOUT their RELIGIONS, it's about their DECISIONS POLITICAL.

I defend Christian bashing all the time on this forum. I think most people do too. But when you get a candidate who wears his religion on his sleave such as Huckabee, no thanks.
