I’ll wager he already had a lot of old scar tissue on those knuckles.
“Is this a private fight, or can anyone join in?”
Gotta love that fighting spirit. Win or lose.

It was a fake gun.

Michael Atkins, 25, and Dean Atkins, 26, both of no fixed address, deny murder, two counts of aggravated burglary, wounding with intent and possession of an imitation firearm with intent.
Because it wasn't a fireable weapon.
Disgusting the level of violence of these thugs. They don't seem to be robbers who kill so much as murderers who steal stuff.

God bless him. I’m thankful that my nation and state acknowledge my right to defend myself, such that if I were in a similar situation the burglars would be learning just how short a lifespan can be with .45 ACP sized holed in their center of mass.

'He's fighting back the b******, kill the b******, he's fighting back.'"
Judging by this statement they seemed used to compliant defenseless victims that don't fight back.
Yes that sounds about right. As I understand it, defenseless, passive victim compliance is pretty much government-imposed over there.

I am curious, though, why he used the gun to hit the assailant instead of just shooting him with it. It was a toy gun! That is happening a lot in GB.

Given recent history how is it that this man is not on trial for defending himself and his daughter with violence and , especially with a gun. He may not have fired it but he had it in his hand. In Britain that sort of crime has sent people to prison.

It’s a good thing Great Britain doesn’t allow innocent civilians to be personally armed and defend themselves against rampaging killers. Somebody might get hurt. Oh, wait a minute. Never mind.
