Romney has surged in the national tracking polls ....

John McCain and Mitt Romney are tied for the lead at 27% and no one else is close. Mike Huckabee is eleven points back at 16%, Rudy Giuliani is at 14%, and Ron Paul is supported by 6% of Likely Republican Primary Voters (see recent daily numbers).

After he wins Florida, Romney can turn that into a clear win in most Feb 5 states.

I so disappointed about Fox News being in the tank for McCain. Before this, I truly enjoyed FOX. Return with us now the golden age of “WE REPORT, YOU DECIDE”.

want somebody who will win this war and not mess up everything else too badly.

So you're a Mitt supporter, right?

I was a Fred supporter.

With Fred out of the race, IMHO, McCain is the only one left that fully understands the strategic stakes involved in the Persian Gulf and how to achieve victory.

See my Post 107 on this thread.

McCain has always put victory in the war over political expediency.

Here is some flak he got back in December of 2006 over his long time advocacy of the Surge that both Bush and Rumsfeld opposed and that is now saving our bacon in Iraq.

Published: Wednesday December 27, 2006 ..... Novak: McCain's 'aggressive surge' stance backfiring

It is a pathetic commentary on 21st Century America when "backfiring" is defined as losing political brownie points rather than losing a war right now.

McCain's grandfather served in war, his father served in war, he served in war and his son is serving in war.

McCain rarely speaks of son serving in Iraq ..... McCain's son, Jimmy, 18, a Marine Corps enlistee, is now serving in Iraq, where more than 6,000 Marines have been injured and about 650 killed.

The Romneys have never served, in war or in peacetime, ever ...... Unless you parse the meaning of the word.

Romney likens sons' campaigning to military service

The last thing we need now is another clueless Commander-in-Chief. We have a war to win and the strategic stakes for losing are catastrophic.

“The last thing we need now is another clueless Commander-in-Chief. We have a war to win and the strategic stakes for losing are catastrophic.”

you would think that would be the paramount argument.

He would probably cave to every whine from the liberals. Was use to and did it in Mass..

It is pretty pathetic for America to have come to the point that it chooses the President of the United States based on age or looks.

There is a wise basis underlying such judgments. Voters want to be reassured that the person they elect to the presidency will have the physical, mental, and emotional stamina and strength to cope with the vigors and extreme challenges of the job. It isn't the only thing voters care about, but it is an important factor. And it should be.

Well, I guess, based on age, this guy was a real loser.

As far as looks and age, this guy looked quite dashing, young and fit ... with or without his pants on

Not like this old fart who had a wife that looked even older than he was.

Maybe we should choose this guy. He has no experience worth mentioning and the Realpolitiks of the World will chew him up and spit him out but ...... Hey! Look at those pecs!! And he is even a Politically Correct color!

You may get to vote for McQueeg in the General Election, but you will very lonely. McQueeg is a two-faced, stab-in-the-back traitor. It brings his whole POW experience into perfect perspective. He hasn't changed - he is still a fake hero.

Last time I checked, Romney has 73 delegate compared to McCain's 38. Thus, Romney should be considered the front-runner at this point in time.

No. It desn't matter that Romney has 73 delegate compared to McCain's 38. If the MSM says McCain is the front runner, then McCain is the front runner.

I’ve heard more favorable comments on Romney over on Msnbc than on Fox. Fox has become disgusting as of late. I am soon to tune out.

"Immigration is seen as the top issue by just 12% of Florida’s Likely Republican Primary Voters, but they overwhelmingly favor Romney over McCain by a 63% to 7% margin."

Boy, is that a telling stastic!

Although Bob Dole did run with an incapacitated arm. I wonder if that affected his losing?

Dole lost because he ran a HIDEOUS, HIDEOUS campaign.
