The last thing the Democrats want is a tall, vibrant, healthy man like Mitt Romney standing next to their short, fat old hag during the national debates.

Not to mention her shrill whiny voice compared to his smooth confident tone. I can hardly stand to listen to her in her commercials, four years of that voice would be too much.

I think Mitt will choose a Southern Governor, like the very capable Haley Babour, maybe Perdue...

What did we beat Carter with? REAGAN, a Governor. Reagan-Bush was the dream ticket. California and Texas. They were half way home.

Mitt is BRILLIANT. Russert and Willims are not. They DID give him a tremendous amount of time.

The press tried to do in Reagan in 1980. We know how that turned out for them....

Who could Thompson endorse that WOULDN’T cause you to lose respect?

Mad Man McCain? The Huckster? Gay Pride Rudy?

There isn’t a plausible conservative left running!

I’m going to vote Mitt because he seems the least awful of what is left...and I do mean LEFT!

Don’t worry about it, some people feel a sense of self righteous indignation over their own hyperinflated views and self importance.

Yes, I was around then. On abortion, he went from “no stand” to pro-life. What else do you think he changed on?

Thompson endorsing any of them before he has to would be a problem.

I rarely post my opinions at Freerepublic, but I do come here often and read all of your opinions. I was for Fred from the start, but since he is out of the race, I am going for Romney. I cannot stand McCain. I never liked the way he did President Bush. I never liked anything that I saw of McCain during the last 7 years. It seemed like he was working against Bush because he just couldnt get over the fact that he lost to him. Its unbelievable to me that any republican could think that he would be better at National Security than Romney. McCain doesnt even want the terrorists to be waterboarded for information that could save American lives! By what I read in these forums, it seems that the vast majority of you are behind Romney and I want to say that I am very happy to see this. We need to come together and stand up for Romney.

Neither of those choices would hurt him. But I do hope he has room for Sheriff Joe in his administration. Head of DHS would be nice...

You can stay home and bake cookies. Really, you add nothing here except negativity. Why don’t you expend your energy supporting your candidate? Your drivel isn’t welcome on this thread

I have met Romney and was personally blown away by him. The only other politician in my lifetiem who blew my socks off was Ronald Reagan. Mitt is quite decent, and that is the one thing we require of a President. The Clintons have exhausted even the Dems patience, and they are NOT decent. Mitt took the time to talk with everyone, was VERY funny, and posed for pictures with everybody. The other candidates, especially Rudy, but also McCain, and even Fred woold not really mingle with the folks. Not Mitt, he spoke with EVERYBODY, and was quite nice to the public. GWB was the same way, and I knew he would win. Same with Mitt.
