The Real Inconvenient Truth
RangeMagazine.com ^ | Winter 2008 | Michael S. Coffman, Ph.D.

The cover of the Aug.13, 2007, issue of Newsweek sports a very active sun with the title "Global Warming is a Hoax." But the cover story is not about how the man-caused global warming hysteria is a hoax. Oh, no, it is just the opposite. It is a diatribe about how those who are skeptical about man's influence on climate are denying the truth and are undermining true science.

Thank you for replying. You might have missed the point of my post. I accept that AGW influences are real. This is evidenced by the fact that we heat our homes in winter and rely heavily on internal combustion engines of various kinds for transportation. My point, however, is that such AGW factors have not been properly scientifically proven to be a significant contributor to global warming.

I read the article.

Again, I accept that AGW is real. The question is whether or not AGW is a significant factor compared to other factors which influence global warming, such as solar activity. As I have already stated, the only place where significant AGW has been "scientifically" proven is in the arena of political correctness.

Thank you for replying. Heating homes in winter and a heavy reliance on internal combustion engines of various types are examples of AGW sources. The question is whether or not AGW is a significant and increasing factor when compared with other types of global warming sources, such as solar activity. My point is that AGW has not been properly scientifically proven to be a significant factor in global warming.

That question has already been adequately answered, and the answer is no.........

I believe I understand you as saying that the left has a contrived "yes" answer.........what I and others, I believe, are trying to get through to you, is that there already has been a very emphatic NO answer, a very credible, scientific no............

Al Gore and buddies have no choice but to force the global warming issue since they're profitting by selling carbon credits. They know they only have a short time to profit greatly from idiots who believe their lies without independent research since it's about to get cold, maybe even VERY COLD.

Algore is doing all he can for globull warming by flying everywhere in private jets and spending 10-20 times the national average to heat/cool his expansive house.

He may have to burn those "carbon credit" coupons in the fireplace soon just to keep warm. Enjoy, Al. Your 15 minutes of fame only has 4 or 5 minutes left....

(I got some land to plant "carbon credits" on if you are interested, Al....)

I accept only the consistent, repeatable results of scientific-method based experiments where the verification of scientific facts are concerned. Please provide links to the write-ups of such experiments in order to substantiate your claims as to whether or not AGW is a significant and increasing factor to global warming.

I had the suspicion that this was where you were headed from the very beginning on this thread. More power to you, if you have an absolute requirement that it be set in stone, locked in a vault, with an attached list of numerous scientific studies, notarized, etc.............

I don't need to go to that extreme...........when I get a hamburger, I don't ask the manager to supply me with proof from several sources that the meat is 100% beef, when I buy a pair of jeans, I don't ask the salesperson to provide me with proof from several sources that the material is 100% cotton........

I have the sneaky suspicion, again, that regardless of what or how much evidence I point you to, it will not be good enough, and I will receive repeated requests for more proof.

I say to you, go for it, search the net, search everywhere, magazines, newspapers, journals, papers and windmills...........seek out that continuous, irrefutable proof that you have such need for........let me know in about ten or twenty years how it is going.

There are plenty of sources (the article which is the basis of this thread being one) out there that prove to me that "global warming" is not man made, that man's contribution to "global warming" is minuscule, and, lastly, that we couldn't do anything to stop "global warming" even if we wanted to.........we don't have the means to stop a hurricane, a major flood, a tornado, a volcanic eruption, a tsunami, solar flares, solar wind, ice caps melting, ice caps freezing, ocean levels or prevailing winds, and, we can't stop "global warming", it's just now possible.

Good luck in your quest for the perfect, absolute proof that you are seeking.........

Thanks! Now I’m somebody!

Series (Seriously) I left the original typos (such as the “Meth” reference) because, for some reason, it just seemed “right.”

The UK has agreed to build 20,000 wind turbines within 12 years some 7,000 of them real large ocean based ones. Like building more that one Eiffel Tower every day. Like this is going to happen.

I wonder how they'll report the seabird massacre that ensues.

It won’t happen because about half way through construction, when the financial exposure is greatest, the enviros will sue to stop it. They have an endgame in mind and it doesn’t include electricity for people like you and me. As a matter of fact, it probably doesn’t even include you and me.

When I was young, everone in our area had coal furnaces, a burn barrel out back for garbage, burned their leaves, and nobody recycled. With all that their was no global warming. I guess we should go back to doing those things.
