Chris Plante is subbing this morning for Chris Core. Plante will return to his regular time slot tomorrow night, Tuesday, 1/29, from 8 -10 p.m. 630 WMAL will broadcast a special interview of President Bush by Ann Compton tonight at 8 p.m., followed by the State of the Union address at 9 p.m.

Tune in through streaming audio (or radio in the D.C. region) for two hours of the most fun-filled, fastest-growing and sensational radio talk show, “The Chris Plante Show”, transmitting LIVE from Washington, D.C.’s 630AM - WMAL (see links below).

If you want a serious political conversation mixed with sense of humor, knowledge, intelligence and sarcasm in a highly-charged news talk radio show, along with a discussion of the breaking news of the day, then you’ve come to the right place. WELCOME TO “THE CHRIS PLANTE SHOW”!

CHRIS PLANTE BIO (some excerpts from WMAL) -

“The Chris Plante Show”, 630AM - WMAL, Washington, D.C. is broadcast live during the week, Mondays through Fridays from 8:06 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 12:06 - 2:00 p.m. by himself and with Jerry Klein, WMAL's Pet Liberal, from 2:06 - 3:00 p.m.

Chris Plante, often sub to Mark “The Great One” Levin, joined the WMAL team after 17 years at CNN including nearly ten years assigned to the Pentagon covering the U.S. military and intelligence community. Chris was assigned variously as Pentagon Correspondent, Senior Producer for National Security Affairs, Military Affairs Producer and as an assignment editor. He traveled extensively for CNN covering defense related stories from Saudi Arabia in 1990 and Bosnia in 1995, to Vietnam, Indonesia, Africa and the remote corners of the former Soviet Union.

Chris also hosts the public affairs show “Homefront America” which is currently seen nationally on The American Life television network, and is working as a documentary film maker. Representing the third generation of his family that has been “on-the-air” in radio and television, Chris brings a unique world-view, and largely conservative/libertarian values to his role as talk show host on WMAL.

Marching in lock-step with no politician, Chris says his political party is “Practi-crat”, “...because of my distinctly practical political leanings.” Chris received the Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio and Television News Directors’ Association (RTNDA) for his reporting from the Pentagon during the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.

5 - “We should’ve left you to the Commies - we should’ve left you to the Totalitarians, you Moron, then you’d be living at the end of an AK-47, then things would be better, wouldn’t it? We should’ve left you to the Soviet Union! I wish Daniel Ortega’s regime had never been disrupted and they’d just stay with the heel of their Commie boot on your neck!” (referring again to Ricardo from Nicaragua) - 5/25/07.

6 - “The Arab World [and more broadly, the Islamic World] is minting new lunatics just like Japan is producing new Toyota Camry’s!” - 10/29/07.

9 - “There are a few daily non-stop flights out of JFK airport to the Middle East, but we don’t see these ‘peaceful pro-Islam organizations’ [based in the U.S.] taking any flights to the region to rally for peace towards the U.S. I’ll buy your damn plane ticket!” Aug/Sept 2006

10 - “Liberal Line #1: ‘There is no problem’”. “Liberal Line #2: ‘We [Conservatives] are the problem’”. - 11/9/07.

14 - “Smelly guys in their underwear, living off their mothers’ Social Security check and living in the basement of their mothers’ home, drinking Fresca with one hand while clicking their keyboards with the other and sitting in front of their computer screens all day and night -- that’s the ‘Moveon.org crowd’ “ - Nov. 2006

15 - “You knock down two buildings; we’ll knock out two countries [Afghanistan and Iraq]” - 1/4/08

I’m posting this thread now because I’ll be at a doctor’s appointment at 9:30 a.m., so I’ll be incommunicado for most of the show... if any of you want to take over my threadmistress duties, I would be most appreciative...

See you all later at the Levin Lounge!

I can’t believe anyone staying at home and not voting in Nov. I mean, if it’s McCain vs. Clinton, then, ask yourself, who is the lesser of two evils?

Pray, people, pray...

Regarding this caller —

Definition of a liberal

1. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand.

2. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.

3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese and North Korean communists.

4. You have to believe that there was no art before federal funding.

5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical changes in the earth’s climate and more affected by soccer moms driving SUVs.

6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial, but being homosexual is natural.

7. You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.

8. You have to believe that the same teacher who can’t teach 4th-graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.

9. You have to believe that hunters don’t care about nature, but PETA activists do.

10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.

11. You have to believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of his own money to make “The Passion of the Christ” for financial gain only.

12. You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.

13. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.

14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Gen. Robert E. Lee, and Thomas Edison.

15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides are not.

16. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn’t worked anywhere it’s been tried is because the right people haven’t been in charge.

17. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag queens and transvestites should be constitutionally protected, and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.

18. You have to believe that this message is a part of a vast, right-wing conspiracy.

GOD BLESS AMERICA....... ooops, can’t do that either!

Well, and like a caller to Chris this morning said: “If it’s down between McCain and Hillary, then I want for Hillary to win because then, whatever chaos happens during her Presidency until 2013 can be blamed on the DEMOCRAT who is the liberal, not the REPUBLICAN who is a liberal. Hence, the “Republican” name is saved. In other words, let everything fall on the Democrats. Let’s not tarnish the Republican name any further”.

Yea, it’s gonna be real tough to vote for McPain or Hitllery come Nov. 4...
