Given how unpopular this is with the general electorate, this looks like a dopey political move.
So how is any different on this issue than McCain?

Obama better do his homework. Californians have resoundingly voiced their opposition to drivers licenses for illegals.

Maybe he will succeed in driving some African American voters back to Hillary.
the only way this will help him in California is if he grants illegals voting rights, too.
I’ve contended for some time that once the shine of being a novelty candidate wears off, Hussein NObomba will be exposed for the inexperienced, wrong ideas/positions, liberal wacko that we already know he is.
This is just the beginning. This clown is way over his head. Once the free ride is over, so is his candidacy.
Off the cuff comments usually don’t favor candidates. Let’s hope he gets more opportunities to do the same in the near future.
Let “ undocumented, non-citizens” get a DL that must be renewed each time they pay their Insurance Bill! If they don't re-new the insurance the Licsense is VOID. “documented non-citizens” should be able to get a license and insurance that expires along with his/her “Guest Status”.If a State is granting lisences to Foreign Students that are valid for longer than their Student Visas, We have ANOTHER problem!

We already have illegals in NM given driver’s licenses — an estimated 40,000 plus. The NM Republican party has tried to compare drivers license names and addresses with voter registration roles but has been denied access by the Richardson administration citing privacy. The party has sued to get the information and I believe the suit is working its way through the court NM system, run by the DemocRATs.

Anyone in the world can drive in America IF they have a legal driver’s license from their home country.
This “driver’s license” for illegals is just a scam to get the illegals in the DMV so they can then go to the next window and register to vote.
I wish the GOP would get on the stick and get a couple of Hispanic Americans in a TV ad exposing this Bravo Sierra for what it is. Oh, that's right, I forgot the Bush-Republican-Globalists on FR and around the country WANT this because they think that it is to their benefit to be for "driver's licenses for illegals".
