The first wave of exit poll numbers, including absentees: McCain 34.3 percent, Romney 32.6 percent, Giuliani 15.3 percent, Huckabee 12 percent

Over a decade ago, the exit polls showed Prop 187 in California losing by a wide margin. However, it won in a landslide. It isn't over till it's over.

Well, let’s have a note of optimism on the exits.

With them early and afternoon measurements, they won’t get the crowd voting on the way home from work. That means they are heavy on retirees, and those point at McCain. A bit of strength for Romney can be expected in the people voting on the way home from work.

Hmm, I would think the panhandle would be Huckabee country, but who knows?

yes. I know that romney has a big problem with the flipfloppy impression. but in the business world that Romney lived in, he couldn’t get away with pandering and appeals to hope and “yes we can.” He actually had to produce something that showed results.

“I used to have a neighbor that was in McCain’s class at Annapolis and his flight training class. Most of what Sampley claims is true.”

I used to have a neighbor was laid off by Romney. He said he would see him every full moon eating little babies around poor neighborhoods.

Does anyone know how the early voting tallies figure into these stats (if at all)?

“neighbor was” = “neighbor that was”

As far as I’m concerned the Gang of 14 did more damage than good by undermining the Republicans ability to “go Nuclear”. It also undid the chances of many other very qualified potential judges. Definitely saw this as one of John McCain’s betrayals, not as a good thing.

I think in many ways McCain was MORE of a traitor than some of the RINOS. And I only find him marginally more palatible than his good friend Hillary. To me the damage he has done to the Republican party is vast. I also worry about his instability, arrogance, temper and insane necessity to “get even” with those he thinks cross him. Sorry, nothing you’ve said convinces me differently, and I repeat, he is the only so called Republican I have ever said I couldn’t vote for under any circumstances.

There’s a least one big military base there, I think.

Well, you’re entitled to your opinion. I’m not saying Anne Romney isn’t attractive, but I wouldn’t fly halfway across the U.S. to see her speak. Marsha Blackburn (who I believe is my age, 57 and looks 43) is A LIVING DOLL!!!! She’d make Fredsters happy...She backed Fred...

So which things did they make up? I’ve heard reference to many of their claims in other places already, so at least they ring somewhat true.

I guess we can take solace in the fact that a lot of white collars are voting now after work.

And possibly the absentee ballots. At least here in California, the majority of absentee ballots are for conservatives.

Huckabee and Romney will likely do even better in the Panhandle, than McCain or Rudy, than they do in southern Florida.

Romney is the “New Reagan”...

Florida will be viewed in history as the turning point at which the Romney candidacy took over the race. His persona is catching on with the masses.

Obama is looking strong and HillBillery is, as usual, EVIL.
Both would be good competition against McCain, Huckser, or Giuliani.

But Romney is the best fighter the Repubs can put up against Hill/Obama. He’s so presidential compared to any of the candidates. He’s articulate and sharp as a tack. He’s a SUPERB debater and will tear apart the Marxist/socialist ideals of Hitlery or Mocha Obama.

I’m betting Romney beats McCain by 8-10% in Florida in spite of the biased liberal media polls that hope McCain will win so he can lose later.

Romney says, “I frankly can’t wait” to run against Hillary:

The end is excellent (he hits Hitlery so hard)
