I just renewed my concealment permit in Fulton County....
Have had my concealment permit for over 20 years and carry everywhere (including events, schools and alchohol serving resturaunts).
If you are caught in a prohibited zone but are a legitmate concealed permit holder, the penalty is a misdemeanor and does not necessarily affect your ability to carry.
Of course, the weapon is concealed so who is going to know anyways?

As I understand it, the bill is not dead, but the amendment that would have removed the vague, confusing clause of the CCW law that forbids carrying at what the law calls “public gatherings” was defeated. That clause has been interpreted in numerous different ways by different judges ever since it was made part of the GA CC law. I can’t understand how any legislator could be so stupid or so closed minded that he or she can't see the problem with that vague clause.
