Almighty Lord, we come before you with humility in our hearts. Giving thanks to our Lord and savior, who is perfect in every way. May we look to you to always meet our needs, according to your glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Lord we pray for President Bush today, knowing that you hear the prayers of your children. Enable our President to be strong and courageous. Don’t let him get frightened or discouraged, but let him know that you will be with him wherever he goes. Work in President Bush’s heart so that he will think and act according to your good purpose.

Father we also lift up our troops. We pray that they would take refuge in you and be glad, let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them that they may rejoice in you.

We pray this in your Son’s holy name, amen.
