Protecting the earth from global warming is a mandatory part of following Jesus, former Vice President Al Gore said at a "Stewardship of the Earth" luncheon Jan. 31 during the New Baptist Covenant Celebration in Atlanta.
"This is not a political issue," Gore told a crowd of approximately 2,500 paying attendees. "It is a moral issue. It is an ethical issue. It is a spiritual issue."
Gore quoted Scripture several times in his speech and repeated his views that increasing amounts of carbon dioxide in the earth's atmosphere are causing a global climate crisis. Gore produced an Academy Award-winning documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth," which also dealt with global climate change and is being shown at the New Baptist Covenant meeting.
In an introduction of Gore, Robert Parham, executive director of the Baptist Center for Ethics, called the former Democratic presidential nominee a "Baptist prophet" and appeared to criticize the Southern Baptist Convention for its failure to commend Gore for his achievements. He also presented Gore with a "Baptist of the Year Award."

Former Vice President Al Gore receives a Bible with a green cover during a "Stewardship of the Earth" luncheon Jan. 31 in conjunction with the "New Baptist Covenant Celebration" in Atlanta
This guy is precious, bless his heart.
The Church of Global Warming, Al is the pope.
Once again, Al Gore wants to say this is a “moral” issue. On issues such as abortion and same sex marriage,or birth control in school, we are told that we can’t legislate morality, and that we should not be imposing moral standards or making moral judgements. Yet Al Gore is out there proclaiming that it is a “moral issue”.
So which is it, Al? Is it ok to talk about something as a moral issue as long as it’s liberal? As long as it relates to mother earth? As long as it’s something that can be used to bash Bush and Republicans? And when is it not ok to talk about morality? When it conflicts with the liberal position on an issue?
Gluttony is a “spiritual issue” too.
And what does the bible say about sleezy politicians??
Luke 21:8
He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them.

This guy was within a few hundred votes of the Presidency!
Whew! We dodged that bullet!
God created the earth in all its complexities—which we neither fully understand nor control but we are powerful enough to bring the whole thing down without even trying just by our very existence? Yeah.
Oh, my stars in heaven! This is just so so sick.
When does Gore plan on endorsing McCain?
We may not be as lucky next time.

NEWSWEEK: AL GORE NOW WORTH MORE THAN $100 MILLION
[Since 2000, according to published reports, the former veep has transformed himself from a public servant with around $1 million in the bank to a sparkling private consultant with a net worth estimated to be north of $100 million. Hes a senior adviser to Google, a board member at Apple and now a newly minted general partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, the Silicon Valley venture-capital firm that made billions investing early in Netscape, Amazon and Google. . .If Gores profit-sharing deal is anything like the firms other 23 partners, hes also in line to collect tens of millions of dollars a year. Thats because partners carve up 30 percent of the profits if and when the alternative-energy start-ups that KP supports go public or are sold. . .]
