The MSM has a way of transferring THEIR likes and preferences onto the masses.
Because they admire McCain, they think all Republicans and some Democrats will also.
It becomes an echo chamber..

If Romney were dignified we would be voting for him, he strikes most people as an ambitious, grovelling, chameleon that has no masculine traits, he seems brittle and childish as he play acts in a way that he thinks looks presidential.
There is a reason why he is proving to be so unlikable to voters and fellow campaigners, it is because he lacks dignity and manly bearing.
Ronald Reagan had dignity and was able to win landslides.
A reasonable point you make.
All valid worries.
McCain's not stupid, but maybe not as smart as Mitt (and maybe neither as quickly glib as Obama, nor as disciplinedly rehearsed as Hillary).
Also, the "political machine" of Hillary's might just be a vote COUNTING machine, if you get my meaning.
