Delegate Count Between Romney and McCain on CNN Site
CNN ^ | 2/2/08 | CNN editorial

Posted on 02/02/2008 4:52:56 PM PST by GilGil

Notice that under the candidate tab of the posted URL that McCain's delegate count is 97 which includes the regular delegates plus unpleged RNC delegates. Notice at the same time that the delegate count for Romney is 74 which is 67 delegates plus 7 unpleged RNC delegates. Romney seems to be way ahead in Maine where there are 18 delegates and 3 unpleged RNC delegates. We can only conclude that in a few hours Romney will have 95 delegates to McCain's 97. If McCain won Maine in 2004 but lost it by a landslide today, this is not by any means over!

McCain and Huckabee are all over the place today saying Mitt needs to drop out.

I wonder if their internal polling is showing them that this will not be decided TUesday and he race will still be on.

Yeah, and the MSM and, in particular, our favor Minister keep calling for Romney to withdraw. Coverage that I’ve seen today gives Romney very short shrift - The fix is apparently in and might work. WTF!

In McCain and Huckabee’s twisted dreams.. Romney is going to win Maine, Colorado, Massachusetts, Utah, Montana, and who know how many other states...

There is some kind of deal between those two. Dirty politics at its worse.

Huckabee should have dropped out. Fred Thompson had more money in the bank then he had ending the forth quarter. I don’t want any of them to drop out. I don’t want a clear winner because none of them are.

Never thought I’d be saying this, but please, PLEASE, let Romney knock McCain out of the running. Please let Super Tuesday be a backlash...

I doubt there is a deal no more there was a deal between Fred and McCain. I hope they all stay in and split the delegates between them. I don’t want any of them to win the nomination because none of them deserve it.

Mitt is a Rhino too. McCain has a more conservative record than Romney. I don’t care for him much better but none of the remaining three deserve to win.

Mitt has the most egregious record of the three, taken in total.

Yes he should have but we can’t un do that now. His fund raising numbers were better than McCain, Huckabee and he had 2.1 million on hand. What he didn’t have was a media that gave him any quarter and of course “conservative” cheerleaders got on board early with icon candidates like Romney (who shouldn’t even be in the race given his horrible record). Romney is a sham candidate pure and simple, Huckabee is a socialist preacher and not much more, and then we have a war hero who fancies himself a man about town with the libs.

We’re in such bad straits. Romney, with a somewhat liberal past, claims to have had an epiphany and now embraces conservative values. Do we believe him? McCain, with a somewhat conservative past, has stuck it to conservatives many times, especially since GW won in 2000. Now he claims to embrace conservative values. Do we believe him? Romney comes across as a rational businesman. McCain comes across as an angry nutcase. Oy!
