According to the Associated Press, Mitt Romney won 53% of the vote, followed not at all closely by John McCain, who won 21% and Ron Paul, who won 19%. Mr. Romney's campaign spent money to turn out voters, whereas Mr. McCain's did not. But every statewide elected official was with McCain,

Can Mitt actually win a conservative state that isn’t Mormon?

Outstanding.

Expect the liberal media to spike this story. I remember all too well the silence of the liberal media when Romney had twice the delegates as McCain...but the moment McCain took the lead, suddenly he was the Anointed One in the eyes of the media. *snark*

Romney can still win this thing if we don’t give up. The MSM and the RNC are trying to discourage us. I understand whey the MSM, but not the RNC!?!?

Another Wyoming and Nevada-style win! Governor Romney likes these false ‘wins’ to try to gain false momentum, but his candidacy is in big trouble. We all know it.

Wow, Ron Paul with 19% of the vote. 18 delegates up for grabs.

I'd vote twice for the crazy uncle Ron Paul before voting once for McNasty.

me too Here is a handy dandy chart comparing all of the candidates, remember this when you vote

-----------------------------------------------------------
Fresh national poll numbers from Rasmussen:

In the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination, it’s John McCain at 30%, Mitt Romney at 30%, and Mike Huckabee at 21%. Ron Paul is supported by 5% of Likely Republican Primary Voters…Romney leads by sixteen percentage points among conservatives while McCain has a two-to-one advantage among moderate Primary Voters

…On the Republican side, Missouri and Tennessee are toss-ups while McCain leads in Alabama. McCain has a solid lead in the winner-take-all state of New Jersey and holds modest leads in California, Connecticut, and Illinois.

yep! He is good at hyping phony victories (just like his phony conservative positions).

Best hope for conservatives is Huckabee doing well on Super Tuesday! Keeping him in the race holds the other two RINOs feet to the fire.

If the race is over soon, it would give Romney or McCain more time to shift left

Well, if you don't like Romney Care you're absolutely gonna hate McCain Care which involves 15 million illegals.

Can Mitt actually win a conservative state that isn’t Mormon?

How many conservative states have voted thus far?

Nevada, Wyoming. Neither is a "Mormon state"; the percentage of Mormons in the population is relatively small -- low double digits, at best.

How many conservative states has McCain or Huckabee won?

South Carolina is about it.

mtnwmn:

The Rinocracy DOES NOT want a conservative as the Party, even a “new conservative” like Romney. It all boils down one thing...They want:

1) TTC/SPP/NAU
2) Open Borders/cheap illegal labor for their big business chums and
3) to destroy the Middle Class, what’s left of it!

I kid you not. If you don’t believe me, watch Lous Dobbs some night when he’s not taking it easy on his NJ ranch...

“Romney can still win this thing if we don’t give up. The MSM and the RNC are trying to discourage us. I understand whey the MSM, but not the RNC!?!?”

Mitt Romney is off drawing attention his widely-despised religion in Utah. I know it’s not over until it’s over, but after Florida it’s just a matter of time. Maine doesn’t mean anything - it’s just like Romney’s win in Wyoming where no one bothered to campaign. Let’s start getting real and rallying around the GOP to defeat the Dem nominee in 2008.
