Not in 2008, but in 2010, 2012 (and a GOP President then too, most likely, for numerous reasons), adn perhaps several elections afer that.
And do not delude yourself into believing that Clinton will mess up in a way that will make her unelectable in 2012.
It's quite likely that she will. She may have been in DC for a long time, but she doesn't get it. She's not an effective Senator becauase she overreaches. She'll do even more of that as President. Hillary Health was a failure before and it will be a failure again, but as it did before, it will bring a Republican Congress into office.
Of course, she may decide at that point to suspend civil liberties and dismiss Congress.
She will likely have a couple of seats to fill on the Supreme Court and she will have a Democratic Congress to help her, if the minority Democrats could not stop Roberts and Alito from being appointed, what makes you think that the minority Republicans will be able to stop a hard core liberal from being appointed?
The very thing that Dimmycraps were using aginst Republicans: the filibuster. As long as they don't have 60 Senators, and they probably won't, the Republicans can talk Hitlery's anti-American Supreme Court nominees to death, thanks to the Dimmycrap-McVain deal to stop the Republican majority from preventing the filibusters of Presidetn Bush's nominees.
That will probably cause a 180 in the Dimmycrap position on filibustering Supreme Court nominees, BTW, just as the investigation of Komrade Klintoon reversed their view on the independent counsel law.
As Senator Richard Schweiker said onhis way back from the Republican Convention in Kansas City in 1976, "Now I know what party loyalty means. It means the conservatives have to support the liberals, but never the other way around."
They are part of the "me, me, me" generation and it's coming to light.
"Don't our troops deserve better than that?"
Yes they do and come hell or high water I will vote in a Commander in Chief that will look out after our brave, dedicated, and honorable US Armed Forces. I will NOT abandon them on the battlefield to be slaughtered by Marxist-Communist America-loathing Democrats.
.
Great post Tom.
Yet another vanity by someone here less than a year. And a worthless topic, at that.
Who becomes Commander in Chief of the US Armed Forces is a "worthless" topic to you? That's all I need to know about YOU!
Give me a break. The newbie could have posted this comment on any of the other dozen threads concerning this topic. No vanity is necessary.
Just scroll on by.
Yes I am optimistic. All it takes is a little nose pinching to get through the initial shock. This is the way Christians make converts. Learn it, live it, and love the results it will bring. We will take this opportunity to make our party stronger.
Which is why any protest vote is best spent by writing-in the name of a conservative candidate. That message would be difficult to misconstrue.
In the alternative, I can somewhat understand why one might vote for Hillary over McCain. They are extremely similar and at least when the crap hits the fan, the dems will take the blame instead of the repubs. That is not the way I will do it, but I can somewhat understand those that might.
We need to make new converts. John McCain will draw new people into the Republican Party. We will convert them the way Christians do. We will take them in with love, even if it means we pinch our noses and bite our tongues. We don’t want to scare them away. And the results will make the Republican Party stronger.
You dont win by losing.
I understand your question.
My husband was in the Army during Clinton’s presidency. It was a shared joke among the soldiers- “Have duct tape, will travel”. It wasn’t funny- it was scary, but they struggled through. Our soldiers have survived bad leaders before- Carter comes to mind...They, and WE will survive Hillary, Obama or McCain. But here is the point: Any of these three will do damage that will be the same, no matter which one wins. I, personally, would rather they were blaming a demonRAT than a republican.
Not buying it. I bit on the “elect Republicans so President Bush can appoint Conservative judges” line.
Not biting on the hillary boogerman/woman. If the Republicans are/were so afraid of her being elected they would have fielded an opponent that could defeat her.
Instesd, they with the msm’s help are behind the only Republican whose nomination will gurantee a Hillary win come November.
Whether one votes for Mc Cain or stays home does not matter. Either way the Democrats benefit.
It would have been hard to ask a question based on something that hadnt happened yet.
***ETFOOM, but you also said “and many here” and you posted your comment HERE. The other pundits have been vocal about McCain in the past, so you’ve had plenty of opportunity. You’re once again full of bull shiite.
And I really dont give a rats ass if it doesnt pass your smell test. I think your tinfoil hat might be a bit too tight.
***I think you’re simply a RINO trying to re-define conservatism according to your own definition, which magnifies the WOT aspect above all others. I’m so sick of RINOs. Right now, as you read this, your blood pressure goes up and you wish you could find some great retort — but you can’t; because you’re a RINO posting on a Social Conservative website in support of an ANTI-CONSERVATIVE. I’m so sick of RINOs that have ruined this party that I’m gonna go out of my way to raise their blood pressure. It looks like I’ll have plenty of time to do this in the next few years. Jerks like you have ruined this party and are starting to ruin this country.
No it is not.
The Democrat Party and its allies are the biggest threat to America today.
This so called “WOT” is just a back door for socialism and a police state.
Hannity's an interesting story. He started out shoving Rudy down our throats and the majority of his listeners told him he was nuts. So he dropped Rudy. Now he's using the same reasons that listeners used against Rudy against McCain. Frankly, I think Hannity's "endorsements" are more about ratings and less about politics.
If the Dems win the majority in the senate, they will do away with the 60 vote deal and pass any judges or legislation they want to. Get used to it. If Tuesday gives this to McCain the Dems will take the Presidency.
Mc Cain being elected President should be the least of your worries.
The minute he is offically nominated, the main stream media will cut him to ribbons.
Then the Clinton machine will open attacke upon him.
Within a week his numbers will have a minus sign in front of them.
Every Mc Cain scandal will be aired morning, evening, and night.
His candidatecy is supported by Country Club Republicans, Democrats posing as Republicans, and the main stream media.
The main stream media and the Democrats know he is the only candidate that will gurantee a Democrat victory. Why the Country Club Republicans support him other than he is one of them I can’t say.
Only people on this forum believe that he will be elected.
That is also how I feel.
