I don’t buy it. John McCain suffered at the hands of men like Vlad Putin. That gives him a unique perspective and no doubt gives our enemies cause to pause.
Is Hillary giving the sieg heil in the picture on the Drudge web site?
Are you kidding?
McCain suffered at the hands of the Viet Cong.
He was tortured, and suffers from the after effects.
The one reason that we don’t need to have him as our CIC
is that he is mentally deficient.
Posted as a wife of a Viet Nam vet...
I don’t like John McCain’s position on the issues. However, I react very negatively to anyone who would disparage his patriotism. I don’t think the public will tolerate it either. I do not think it will reflect well on anyone who trys this tactic. McCain is revered as a heroe by many of the Viet Nam generation.
I do not, however, believe the same about Senator Kerry.
At the time, we lacked permission to post that article on FreeRepublic, and at the request of the management over at "To The Point News", I asked the mods here to pull it, which they did. For the curious, you can see the pulled post at Michael Reagan: John McCain Hates Me - Post #46.
Since then, due to popular request over on the "To The Point News" site, Jack Wheeler has decided to put this article on the public side, with permission to post it elsewhere.
Thanks to yazdankurd for getting this ball rolling.
The Clintons wouldn’t touch this with a ten-foot pole.
If the Clintoons want a dog fight I just may think McCan is the guy with a bigger bite and alot of fight they won’t want any part of.
I don’t think this should be posted here. Leave it to the left wing whackos.
Most of us from the Viet Nam era have nothing good to say bout him.
You can strike that from your list.
Carry on...
It should be crystal clear to everyone what is going to happen if McCain gets the nomination.
I agree - they’re going to be pushing all his buttons, they’ll HAVE to drive up Juan’s negatives again to try to match hers (but never will get them THAT high).
POW torture is a different thing, it’s more systematic than this pressure, and McCain is more volatile when he’s winning...
I am not a McCain supporter, but this kind of ugly stuff makes me more likely to vote for him.
Through Russia’s proxy the NVA you mean. He was in Hanoi, no? I meant his service makes him immediately someone to garner concern or respect from our foreign adversaries. He’s not a civilian ingenue. He’s an American Imperialist to the hilt. They keep saying we can’t afford another one of those guys but I wonder.
LOL
As if it hasn't been staring us in the face for years?
He IS the 'Rat nominee.
The media is as complicit as they can be.
Get used to President Hill or Bama.
Barring that,PRAY and vote for the best nominee we have!
My sense is probably not going to be in the majority on this. Anyone who went through that kind of hell gets my respect, gratitude and kind consideration, pretty much regardless of what they did while there.
However ... I will hold someone responsible for what they say and do now, in regards to their past. If they lie now and claim heroism beyond what occurred, or deny and cover up more human responses which did occur, then that gives me reason to doubt their current integrity.
You may well be right that my view won't sell well with the public.
This compulsion many of us have (even I had, a couple paragraphs above ;) to always start critiques of McCain with a statement honoring his service and heroism is beginning to feel to me like a strange variant of Political Correctness.
In any case, I'm not voting on someone for a Medal, but for President.
And it bugs me that McCain is called a "War Hero". In American history, war heros used to be guys who killed a lot of the enemy or performed with extraordinary valor on the battlefield. Assume all the noise about McCain's time as POW is BS and McCain told the unvarnished truth. McCain would not be a war hero. You could call him a valiant POW, who suffered tremendously, but that's not being a war hero.
this a landmine alright...for anyone foolish enough to try and use it against McLame in a campaign.
McCain cant hold up to the clinton crime machine.
