LOS ANGELES (Map, News) - Offering women a permission slip to desert the candidacy of Hillary Rodham Clinton in favor of Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey said Sunday they should not feel guilty if they preferred him over her.
"Being free means you get to think for yourself," she said, "and you get to decide for yourself what to do."
A few minutes later, her friend, Maria Shriver, the wife of California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, came on stage and announced her support for Obama.
Shriver said she only decided at the last minute to come to the rally at the University of California, Los Angeles, and support Obama publicly.
"I thought, if Barack Obama was a state, he'd be California," she said to a crowd of 9,000 inside UCLA's Pauley Pavilion. "Diverse, open, smart, independent, bucks tradition. Innovative. Inspirational. Dreamer. Leader."
The Illinois senator has come within striking distance of Hillary Clinton in California, the biggest delegate prize of Super Tuesday, but Obama lags among women.

Oh thanks Oprah—I’ll take that into consideration.
“Oprah says women should feel free to vote for Obama over Clinton”
Of course they should. Gender should have nothing to do with it.
In the same vein, blacks should feel free to vote for anybody over Obama.
The likelihood of liberal women not voting for Hitlary or liberal blacks not voting for Obama, however, is almost zero.
Nod. I wish there was a network that would take the obvious business opportunity of more conservative talk show hosts, evening news and the like. FOX network (not cable news) took the other route and went “edgy” and “youthful” with the Simpsons, Family Guy, House, and the like . . . and didn’t even put together a national news show since it made less money. There is an opportunity to take on Oprah and the View, big time, with a conservative friendly host.

The big question-
Do liberal voting women outnumber voting blacks (or vise versa)?
I am sure women feel grateful for The Oprah’s permission to vote for B. Hussein. (off sarcasm)
Women are FREE to vote for any candidate. They don’t need any celebrity’s approval.

Of course they do. Black voters are about 20% of the Democratic base. Women voters, even minus black women voters, make up over 40% of the Democratic base.

But . . . lots of independent and Republican women get an hour of liberal slant a day through Oprah.
Oprah thinks women need reminding. Jeez.
I still can’t fathom how anyone could buy her hype or the blatherings of any celebrity.
They look like they all use the same plastic surgeon. Ugh!
Most conservative women I know don’t watch Oprah or the LifeTime channel for the simple reason that we’re all out working —> no time for nonsense TV.
Message to Oprah: As a woman, I'm offended by your outrageous remarks... I haven't needed permission for a very long time. Feel guilty? Last time I checked, intelligent women didn't vote either gender or race!
Yes . . . . . I did hug my furry best friend today.
I don’t know how the women/black voting thing works out. What we do know is that they all vote with their emotions and not their brains, because if they used their brains they wouldn’t vote for either BO or PIAPS.
Oprah thinks women need reminding. Jeez.

“My lemmings, you are free to vote for who I tell you to.”
What was holding them back before, Oprah?
Or do women march to your orders like the MSM likes to accuse white guys to marching to the orders of Rush and the rest of the Conservative talk radio world. IF they do, we are in a heap of trouble and you don’t even know that, Oprah.
