Obama is a professional with platitudes.

“Republicans, swing voters, and moderate Democrats are entitled to know why a man who has never been to Iraq and who, aside from a brief trip to London, has barely been abroad as an adult, is ready to guide us internationally.”

This was a major charge against Bush by the left, that he had not traveled.

Bush did travel more than Obama, and yet the left is strangely silent.

As commander-in-chief he could withdraw troops. To the best of my knowledge, the only power Congress has is to cut the purse strings and force withdraw by refusing to fund them.

Exactly. When Biden said Obama was “clean” he simply meant to say that he had a clean record. But in our racially paranoid society everything becomes spin-speak.

You’re putting it politely. I’d say he’s a windbag and an empty suit.

Obama is the next Jimmy Carter.

Hillary is the next Hugo Chavez.

That’s why some conservatives like Obama. Better incompetence than evil.

Maybe, but I don’t know who Jeffrey Hart and Peter Wehner are, and I’m pretty sure Bennet and Lowry won’t be voting for Obama.

Apparently Hart, a Dartmouth professor who wrote speeches for Nixon and Reagan, is.

That's surprising, though he's been quite erratic lately.

More here.

I gather he was upset about Iraq, and about Schiavo and the evangelicals.

“Apparently Hart, a Dartmouth professor who wrote speeches for Nixon and Reagan, is. “

I admit it always upsets me greatly whenever someone I never heard of endorses a candidate I oppose.

No, they’re saying nice things about Obama in the hopes he will get the nomination and the public will wake up and see that he is way too inexperienced and naive to become the leader of the Free World.

Republicans are for the most part truly color blind. It has nothing to do with his race.

Seems like some people are just tired of Bush and Bush-alikes.

He doesn’t dare say anything bad about the rebels in Kenya. His cousin Odinga is on the rebel side.
